Mashed potatoes. Blech. What is behind this phenomenon? I actually did retch when my parents used to make me eat them.
Also, what is offal?

[hijacking my own thread] Friend of mine several years ago was a stripper, and LOVED garlic… but it seems when you dance and sweat, that odor comes out in the sweat or something… A customer one night told her “You’re beautiful, but you smell like an old Greek man.” That’s a direct quote from her, not my words. [hijack over]
Watermelon. I’ve no idea what it tastes like, but the smell will prevent me from ever trying to find out. Urk.
Mayonnaise. When I was growing up, I thought Miracle Whip was mayonnaise (as opposed to a kickass name for a rock band, which it is). Tasting the real stuff didn’t help.
Raw celery. My cousin used to eat it spread with peanut butter. Blecch. I can, however, eat it cooked in soups and stirfry; and when it’s dried and ground up it makes an interesting seasoning to shake on stuff.
Mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and garlic are the Foods of the Gods. Especially together in a good pasta sauce.
I LOVE prime rib. Oh my-the juiciest cut of beef I’ve ever eaten.
Mustard-hated it as a child-until I tasted it. I hated the smell. Now-I adore it. Especially honey mustard!
I’m eating raw 'shrooms right now.
Tomatoes-fruit of the Gods.
Tastes better than it smells.
Side note: great user name!
Oh, what do I hate?
Mayonnaise-AND Miracle Whip. They are the Devil’s Semon.

how could you not like prime rib?!?!
I’m not too fond of octipus. Also tuna in a can - the fish itself is not bad. macaroni salid, (i knon my spelling is worse then usual tonight)
SMU, gypsy, Blue Sky, interface, Dijon: my Dad absolutely hates mayo too. He will gripe for hours if his burger comes with mayo on it, violently scrape it off of the bun … I’ve never understood it. Mayo tastes kinda neutral to me. Guess mayo-hatred is more widespread than I thought. Thanks for helping me get some insight into Pop’s psyche!
But Dijon - watermelon. Total agreement. Yuk, hate it, ptoo, spit, barf, ptoo. Cantelope. too. Don’t know why I’m so repulsed by it, everyone else seems to love the stuff.
Ye gods! I like everything listed except for tuna and tripe. I will eat tuna, provided its well disguised by noodles, sauce and vegetables.
What I can’t stand: boxed macaroni-and-cheese. Why on earth people choke down the disgusting concoction when real macaroni and cheese is wonderful, I don’t know.
Green beans.
As a kid I hated them and my parents forced them down my throat. As an adult I gag if I try to eat them. Smelling them is enough to make me sick.
Somehow my Mom finds this funny. I love my Mom and she has been a good parent but THIS IS NOT FUNNY.
Slee
Cooked carrots. They make me sick, literally. But I don’t mind them when they’re raw.
And papaya. It actually smells like vomit to me, which of course makes it impossible for me to even think about eating it.
Coconut
Mustard
Cole Slaw
Butterscotch pudding
Red Snapper(too fishy, although I love tuna - go figure)
~V
tuna fish. grossest concoction ever.
Cabbage in any form.
Celery
Broccoli
Asparagus
Cauliflower
Brussel sprouts
Walnuts
Pears
Over ripe bananas. I like mine with lots of green.
Any kind of shell fish. I will eat all other types of seafood though.
Cheap boxed macaroni and cheese. If the cheese is powdered, I will not eat it on noodles. Love it on popcorn though.
Clam chowder.
Or, for that matter, clams in any form.
The smell of low tide = riseing gorge.
Coconut and pineapple. Also, butterscotch, which is a tool of the devil.
Oh, yeah - I thought of another one:
Dr. Pepper!
Bleccccchhhhhhhhh!!!
Actually tastes like someone squirted a tube of Ben Gay in Coca Cola.
Big Kahuna Burger, offal is the viscera and trimmings of a butchered animal removed in dressing. Tastes better than it sounds.
My list:
eggs
bell peppers
cinnamon
most fresh fruit, I can eat it dried though
blueberries
How did I forget about buuterscotch and coconut. Blech.
Tomatoes, mushrooms, and fish (except for tuna and fish sticks). Also alcoholic beverages.
