Not funny, not clever.

:stuck_out_tongue: Totally juvenile, this. Whats the funniest name anyone has seen on the credits of a movie? Back last year after watching Matrix Reloaded, me and my mates stuck around to see the Revolutions trailer that played after the credits had run. We made up a game of spotting funny names. The best we could find was some special effects guy called Dick Weight. Ha. Dick Weight. Anyone beat that?

There’s a fellow credited on Babylon 5 whose name is John (forget his last name, let’s just say “Smith” for the sake of this thread). Anyway his credit reads:

“The John” Smith

One of the writers of the old Sanford and Son series was one Bud Wiser.

Sir Rhosis

Old Bud did a lot

He also wrote for Rhoda, On Day at A Time and Growing Pains (he was also a producer on this one), just to name a few.

Some of my friends have this weird running gag going about a voice actor named Roger Bumpass.

Red Buttons

He’s tall, thin, and green and is a marvelous dancer: Fred Asparagus

Lee Ving

We used to imagine the confusion every time he introduced himself:
“Hi, I’m Lee Ving.”
“Why? You just got here!”

The Naked Gun movies have joke names in the credits, IIRC.

I remember seeing things like:

Key Grip - Bob Jones
Second Grip - Phil Smith
Poli Grip - Adhesive for dentures

But now I’ll be staying for the credits of all movies I see, just to take note of all the real silly names.

Antigen
I believe it was in “Hot Shots” where they had a screen credit:

FOREEZ… A Jolly Good Fellow

I assume it’s a joke name, but when Beavis and Butthead ran on MTV, the credits listed someone named “Clem Peckerhead.”

Lee Ving started out as the lead singer for the punk band Fear, and I’m pretty sure his nom de whatever is affected, along the lines of Johnny Rotten.

Hmm…I didn’t know that the tattoo on his arm read “Lee James Jude,” which may be his real name. Guess I should have clicked through to your IMDB link.

Best Boy … whoever
Worst Boy … Adolf Hitler

Set Painter … thingummy
Paint Setter … whatsit

Pat Buttram…but I’m probably saying it wrong.

My friends and I have been using “Dick Wolf” as an insult for years now.

Music video/commercial director Phil Harder. My brother and I discovered him whilst watching music videos in the late '90s. Coincidentally, this was the at the same time as those Isuzu “Go Farther” commercials. The voiceover of those commercials was “Go farther … go farther … too far” in a sort of drawn-out stage whisper. Well, after discovering Mr Harder, we changed the words to “Phil Harder … Phil Harder … too hard.” Hilarity ensued.

Will B. Able (who played Reverend Felcher on All in the Family)

Wes Stern (well, actually a TV show, and not even a Western!)

Pandora Spocks (actually just Elizabeth Montgomery when she played Samantha’s sister Serena on Bewitched)

While perusing IMDb one day, I happened upon Dick Sargent’s bio in which I saw the following:

So he was basically born with the name “Dick Cox”? No wonder he changed it.

Many of the anime adaptations of Rumiko Takahashi’s “Mermaid” series credit one “Dr. Movie”. Don’t know who he is, but I suppose entertainment is the best field for him…

And yet he didn’t really solve the problem.

I always thought Chloris Leachmann was really fake and funny-sounding.
