Not-So-Merry Christmas

All I can say further is, hang in there, mate. :frowning:

Still sendin’ good vibes an’ thoughts your way.

Lurk I am very sorry to hear about your wife’s troubles during the holiday season. My family too has been going through some hardships this year. My grandfather (who I was close with) passed away the day after Christmas. The saddest thing was that my grandmother was stuck in bed because of a hip replacement, and was unable to leave the house to go see him (he was in the hospital for about a week before he passed). Being only 16 myself, I can not even begin to know what you are going through, but I thought that I would let you know that you were not the only one out there to have a not so merry Christmas. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Just spoke to my wife. They told her she’s definitely going home today (YAY!) but didn’t give her a time. Since I’m presuming they won’t just send her home on her own and I don’t drive, I’m probably going to take a bus to the hospital and then call a cab from there. I told her to ask if they have any kind of patient shuttle service (her “regular” hospital does) but I am assuming nothing at this point.

Now I just have to hope I don’t get any grief with the insurance company approving the hospitalization.

Good to hear your wife is coming home, Lurky. Give her our best wishes.

Just to confirm; my wife is home. I did have to bring her home by cab, as the “hospital shuttle” would have cost about $65.00. When I got to the hospital I found that they had given my wife a voucher to cover the cost of the cab ride plus a 10% tip (I gave the driver a few bucks of my own, as I didn’t think that was enough).

After a quick lunch she opened the presents I had collected Christmas Eve, and we watched two of the DVDs she had gotten. Tomorrow night we’ll be going to see LotR.

Thanks again to all for your good wishes and thoughts.
