:drink:

Maybe I should eat something before this really gets going.

OK now Chris just said something significant: NC is too close to call, however this was expected to be a strong and early win for Bush.

Well, Bricker probably hasn’t voted yet. Just be patient.

I think we should drink every time Chis Matthews (or anyone else) says:

"Too close to call"

WTF?? They teased for 20 minutes they were about to make an announcement about Ohio. And we get, too close to call??

Bunning appears to be losing handily in Kentucky. I wonder if those are city or country numbers. That would be a major loss for the Republicans.

South Carolina 61%-43% (Bush/Kerry) with still 1% of precincts. And a blue county has popped up! Fairfield County.

That adds up to 104%. What’s going on down there?

A couple of other interesting races are in the US Senate.

In Kentucky, Dr Dan Mongiardo is ahead of GOP incumbent Jim Bunning, 53-47% with 43% of precincts reporting. If Mongiardo holds on, this would be a big upset. The race was made interesting by Bunning’s erratic behavior in the weeks leading to the election.

In South Dakota, as of now there’s nothing on CNN about the Tom Daschle/John Thune race. Daschle is, of course, Senate Minority Leader for the Democrats. This race marked the first time a Senate Majority Leader, Bill Frist, actively campaigned against his counterpart in the other party, violating a longstanding gentlemen’s agreement. South Dakota is predominately GOP but Daschle has a good chance to hold onto his seat in a close race.

Here’s a good map with recent results for President, House, and Senate races for each state–just mouse over whichever state you want to know about.

Heh! They have it at 60/40 now.

You know, I’ve taken a couple of statistics classes, but it still seems wrong to call an election with 0% of the vote in. Jeeesus, get at least a few votes in first!

Is everyone watching the returns with their bitchin’ CNN/USA Today electoral-vote sticker map like . . . me?
:B

The CNN maps on their website are AMAZING.

Would somebody kindly slip a laxative into Larry King’s coffee? What in the wide world of sports is he doing on this show?!?!

Exit polls in Ohio show new voters going to Kerry over Bush by 56 to 44. 13% of voters are new voters there. More bad news for Bush.

Can someone tell me how West Virginia has been called for Bush when 0% of precincts are reporting?

Missouri also TCTC but was expected to be an early and strong win for Bush.

Florida looks surprisingly ugly for Kerry. I am sure that is one race they will not call until 99% of precincts have reported, but still I am starting to bite my nails.

Exit polling?

Exit polls.
