Is it based entirely on exit polls then?

I’m guessing-- don’t know for sure.

Miami-Dade and Palm Beach have yet to report in. Those counties will have a big affect on the numbers.

“This electoral race is hotter than the Devil’s apple.” -Dan Rather

I have to drink now, right?

That was “Devil’s anvil”. And CBS reported Kerry had 59% of young first time voters, which are about an eighth of the electorate. The young adult vote may be key here.

Anvil. Not Apple. Still don’t make sense, but maybe a bit more sense than apple.

Here’s a shocker, Fox News just reported that Barack Obama got 82% of the vote against Alan Keyes. If anything, that’s less than I would have expected.

I blame Dan’s lacksadaisical enunciation.

Mildly interesting:

According to CNN.com right now, the exit polls in Florida have Kerry slightly ahead – about 50%-49%. But their popular vote count has Bush up by a whopping 55%-45%.

I’m also drinking every time Keith Olbermann uses an AP word.

“Obviated”

Drink!

Again, I imagine that’s at least partly because some big urban counties have yet to report in, particularly Miami-Dade and Palm Beach.

Only this time I’m going to say it without screwing up the “affect/effect” thing.

Bunning is still losing in Kentucky - 52% to 48% - with 65% reporting.

Do y’all think I should start a separate Senate thread? I’d prefer to keep everything consolidated here.

Last polls had Obama up by 40%, so that’s better than the polls. There are some serious Republican counties around Chicago that would vote for Osama if he was a republican. The state Repub chairperson has already wished Keyes a nice trip back to MD (even though he claims he’s going to stay here).

How many drinks have you had?

Why is that a shocker? Do you expect them to call if for Keyes?

BTW, you sure do watch an awful lot of Fox News…

Aren’t you lucky?

Heh! I’m sitting here hitting refresh every 30 seconds on my nifty CNN.com electoral map and running out back to smoke a cig about every 10 minutes because the goddam green too-close-to-call states aren’t changing color!

It should be noted, however, that according to CNN’s projections, Kerry is about 1,000,000 votes behind in the popular and 11 votes ahead in the Electoral.

Hell, he’s history. The state Repub chair sent out an election mailing and never even mentioned Keyes. They’re developing a new group of moderate Republicans, who are the only ones who can really win here. This group is totally ignoring Keyes. No one wanted to go down to Obama, so they brought in this idiot and now when this new group runs, they won’t have a “loser” label.
