I’m trying to remember a poem that went something like this:

Can anyone fill in the blanks for me? What’s the title? Who wrote it?
I did a search on google and found one mention of it:

I have no idea whether this attribution is correct.
I remember it from an episode of “Rumpole of the Bailey.” Rumpole recited it as he walked to his office on a bleak November morning. So, I doubt that Benny Hill is the originator.
