Now Hillary plays the KKK card

Why?

Uh, okay. I think that’s a decent summary of the words that were exchanged that day. I’m not sure what you think it proves.

Look, I know some posters here would love it if every news source would bash the shit out of Republicans continuously, while also giving ammunition to call Republicans liars when they charge the media is biased. I’m not sure what kind of reality that is, but whatever.

But the WaPo’s coverage of Trump has been blistering – and as I’ve said before, I think that’s partially because he’s earned every word they print on him. But if the old saw of the conservative grievance of those damn liberal journalists attacking primarily Republicans ever comes up again, I’m sure a scan of the WaPo’s coverage of the election would feature prominently in that argument.

Let’s just scan what I have on Top Stories on my Post app:

  1. McCain is in the fight of his political life in the age of Trump
  2. Why so many Iowa Republicans are embracing Trump
  3. Trump’s response to his shoddy doctors letter? Call for Clinton to disclose more.
  4. [story about Weiner/Abedin separation, not relevant]
  5. [story about Lucy the Ape, not relevant]
  6. Joe Scarborough: the devolution of the GOP
  7. One of Trump’s biggest lies is falling apart
  8. Does it matter if Trump is really crazy?
  9. Where are the #NeverHillary Democrats?
  10. 10 good questions for Hillary Clinton
  11. Facebook promotes false article on Fox News’ Megyn Kelly (accusing her of being a Clinton supporter)

And other, non-relevant stories after that. I’m happy to update what Top Stories I see from the Post, but I assure you that this negative (and well-earned) coverage of Trump is typical of the last several weeks.

Another KKK card was just added to the deck.

God, if Trump’s surrogates would just stop playing the “we’re all racists here” card, all would be able to see Hillary for the bigot she is!

That’s not at all what I said.

I actually agree with this. Of course Clinton can mention Trump’s racism; I just don’t think it’s particularly wise for her to be offering up lift-out quotes and sound bytes discussing race on a nightly basis. I think that could elevate the sensationalism of the campaign, and I don’t think that would play to her strengths. People have known for a good year that Trump was going to use race as an issue. Short of secret documents and photographs of Trump involved in human trafficking or running a plantation, I don’t know how else he could look any worse. The cake has been baked on that one. Others may disagree, which is fine as long as the orange one loses on election night.

Donald J Trump brought it on himself when he banned the Washington Post from following him on the campaign trail. I don’t know what kind of access the WaPo has now, but I’m assuming that they still aren’t on speaking terms. When you make the decision to cut reporters out of the information loop, you’re basically telling them to write whatever the hell they want about you – and that’s exactly what they’re doing. Trump allowed his balls to overload his brain. Now he’s dealing with the consequences.

Because this post belongs in a different thread, apparently:

If this happens, there goes Silicon Valley. 90 - 95% of the students I’ve hired over the past 10 years, and 90-95% of the resumes I’ve seen are from people who would be shut out under 1924 rules.
Make America Out of Date Again!

95% of the applicants or 95% of the immigrant applicants? I’ve gotta think white men make up more than 5% of CS majors.
