Now my wordpad is f*** up!

Not only do I have to deal with my browser being crapped out to hell, now my wordpad and notepad don’t work right.
No matter what document I open in either one of them, the same thing happens.

Any time I try to scroll down by using the scroll bar, the program will crash. I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL, and end it. The thing is, they won’t crash if I scroll through the document by moving the cursor with the arrow keys.

I would try a new mouse first. Also try to scandisk and degrag your machine. If the former do not help, try reinstalling your windows version. Good luck.

Check to see if new drivers are available. Especially if you’re using a Logitech mouse and Win 2K, since there’s a version of Logitch’s mouseware (or some similar name) that doesn’t work worth beans on 2K.

Slide option to “None”. It will ask to reboot. Do so.

Problem solved, and you probably will never miss that “acceleration”.

Second solution. Hard, risky, impossible to undo.
Get software (freeware from http://www.winfiles.com , etc.)to ferret out duplicate, old .dll files.
Look for those with the same name as others, but with different dates. The newer the date, the more likely it is to be correct.

If you use the second solution, rename the files (say from .dll to .dl_ ) so you can undo them if things don’t get better, or if they get worse.
