Judy Garland but I hope not. I think he’s a garden variety lunatic who if it weren’t gays it’d be blacks or Mexicans or paraphlegics or women named Lucy.
Depends. Is it after Labor Day?
And what is Jeter accessorizing his sox with - pinstripes? For the love of Tim Gunn, that just does not work, sweetheart!
Come to my office. At one point I think it was about 30% GLBT employees. I don’t think I’ve ever had a job or been in a glass that didn’t have at least one gay employee/student in it.
Percentages in the general population aside, the percentage of openly gay professional athletes right now is hovering around zero (0.01%?), and I truly don’t believe that’s accurate. I’m not sure why professional athlete seems to be one of the last places where homosexual men are free to be open about their sexuality - because of the locker rooms? Because the teams travel together a lot? Because they’re supposed to be role models? I don’t get it.
Because one of the last bastions of “Ew! A Fag! Get Him!” is in the male locker room.
Also, to go with the OP, Anna Paquin. Really.
Just for poops and chuckles … here’s a thread I started on the subject (Sports and Homosexuality) in GD (or PLF, as the case may currently be) back in 2001.
I know about the so-called April Fool’s joke about him being gay or bi, but Usher has always seriously pinged my gaydar (such as it is). There’s just something intrinsically camp about the man.
Gyrate, I’m going to give PM you my home, cell and fax numbers, all my email addresses and my home address and the bell number to my apartment, and when you find out for sure, please be sure whatever it takes to let me know immediately.
I don’t think he’s gay but I’ve always seen him as what we now call a metrosexual who loves fabulous (as in bling, etc.).
I read that about 9 percent of people are gay. Also that 9 percent are left handed. Kind of handy how god makes them so easy to pick out.
Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir is not exactly out, but, well . . .
Florida Governor Charlie Crist steadfastly denies it and recently married a hot socialite. Still, everybody knows. And nobody made an issue of it when he ran for governor, and nobody seems to be making an issue of it now when he’s running for senator.
It should not be an issue but that does not mean he is not. If his competitors mention it, it could blow back on them . (excuse the phraseology)Getting married is a an old cover for politicians. I wonder if he has a wide stance.Craig was mentioned in the same movie. He too is married.
It’s true. Anthony Geary is gay. I had not seen that coming out coming.
Matthew Broderick is not gay. Neither is Ryan Seacrest.
http://www.rightpundits.com/?p=3883 Here is the info on Outrage the movie. They claim inside knowledge of people who have had gay trysts with these outed pols. They are pissed because they vote strongly against gay rights while being gay themselves. Even Barney Frank is interviewed in the flick saying he did the same when he first got into politics.
They include Crist, Craig and other deniers.
There have been rumors over the years about Troy Aikman. And I’ve always wondered about Urban Meyer, although I suspect that if he’s gay, even he doesn’t realize it.
Yeah… YOU know he’s gay, even though he doesn’t. THAT makes all the sense in the world.
Excuse me, Astorian. I was being facetious. I guess that didn’t come across.
Anthony Geary used to be- this by his own admission and her’s- the toy-boy of Liz Taylor. Not that this says he’s straight obviously.
Ironically, I remember when he played Mike’s effeminate friend on an episode of All in the Family which sets off Archie onto a fruit-o-phobe rampage that ends with him learning his pal, an ex football player and he-man at the pub, is gay. In that episode Geary actually wasn’t effeminate enough- they made several references to his effeminate mannerisms that weren’t really there save for a slightly flamboyant outfit.
We all knew about Tony Randall, right?
His widow was on a talk show a couple of years ago and said the gay rumors never bothered him, BUT when a tabloid or other source implied his kids were born via artificial insemination he called his lawyers. He wanted it clearly known to all that they were conceived the old fashioned way. (To give the punchline of an old southern joke his wife apparently “weren’t bothered by feelin’ old age creepin’ in at night”).
Vincent Price’s daughter says to her knowledge her father was neither gay nor bisexual (the biggest dirt she dished on him is that he was majorly p-whipped by his last wife who said daughter despised with a passion) but was rumored to be gay all of his life. She said when she asked him about it, by which time he knew that she was a lesbian, he said (something to the effect of) “Well, I speak with a borderline British accent, I’m an art connoisseur and a gourmet chef and an Oscar Wilde buff, I make my living in show biz… even I’d suspect I was gay if I didn’t like sex with women so much.”
A weird case of a celebrity’s child describing their sexual ambiguity was Orson Welles’s daughter Christopher in interviews to promote her recent memoir. She said her father would shock her by describing almost lustfully another man’s anatomy and admitted to having had same sex experiences in his teens, but to her knowledge he was straight. After his death she became friends with his longtime companion, Croatian artist Oja Kodar [pronounced to rhyme somewhat with Goya Guitar], a woman she never met during her father’s lifetime for several reasons:
1- She rarely saw Orson
2- He was legally married to his third wife, an Italian countess, throughout his union with Kodar (which lasted longer than his actual marital relationships with his 3 wives combined [he never divorced wife 3 but was essentially estranged from her for all but the first few years of his marriage] and considered it bad form to introduce daughter to mistress
3- Oja usually remained in California or Europe when he was in NYC where his daughter Christopher lived
She also said she continually heard from women as diverse as Eartha Kitt and various socialites and ingenues that her father was one of the great loves of their life, but she said he once maintained if he had his life to do over again he’d have been homosexual because he regarded it as less distracting from his work. (As one of two daughters he literally didn’t see except for once every few years [he was closer to his youngest daughter] and of one of two wives he’d pretty much abandoned before divorcing she said she wondered just what the distracting part had been.)
