Now that there's zero threat to gun ownership will the price of guns go down?

As suggested, the claim that the NRA is the lobbying arm of the ‘big’* gun manufacturers is nonsense. The NRA is the lobbying arm of millions of gun owners (though by no means does it represent all gun owners). Love or hate the NRA as you like, that’s the reality.

*the pure gun manufacturers are all much too small to be in the S&P 500; Olin is similar in size to companies right at the bottom of the S&P 500 but isn’t a component, or a pure gun manufacturer (owns Winchester among mainly unrelated businesses). Some actually large companies are involved in gun retailing, eg. Walmart, but it isn’t a big part of their business.

Yes. Prices went up before during Obama’s terms. We’ll see how prices go in the short term - there’s one or a dozen more than I’d like to acquire.

CA just passed a confiscation without recompense law.

I’m still getting e-mails shrieking “Obama’s gonna take your guns away before he leaves office! Send money!”
Hopefully they’ll stop in January.

Just magazines though, right (for now)?

For now.

No, thanks to the never-failing vigilance of the common man. Imagine what would have happened without all of the warnings!!

Apparently there has been an up-swing in minorities purchasing guns to protect themselves from expected racist attacks post-election.

Trump's Victory Has Fearful Minorities Buying Up Guns

Win-win for the manufacturers I guess.

See post #4.

Post #4:

Moderates and left-leaning moderates aren’t nearly as gunless as the right believes/hopes.
Just sayin’

Back to the OP, I haven’t noticed any price drops locally, but the prices for ‘Evil Black Rifles[sup]tm[/sup]’ on line seem to have dropped a bit.

Like you I’m one too.

I think the rightists and especially the far rightists have larger arsenals per capita than do the middle & left. But there’s still a hefty supply of lefties with more guns than they can shoot at once.
