Now *this* is ironic...

I EDC 3 scary-sharp Spyderco knives, a Dyad Jr, a Native, and an Endura, so what do I get a massive cut on, requiring a trip to the emergency room for a tetanus booster and dermabond suturing?

a frakkin’ computer case, an old Mac G4 Mirror Door case with a thirst for blood, it took a good 1/4 inch gouge out of the side of my left hand middle finger. looks like I spiked myself with a wood gouge, gonna’ have a cool scar from that one…

I mean, here I am, with 3 shaving-sharp knives on me, and a frelling computer case bites me…

oh well, murphy’s law, right?

You went to the hospital for a 1/4" gouge?

Wus. :stuck_out_tongue:

EDC? Que?

It’s not ironic. It would be ironic if you were using the computer to look up, like, proper knife handling techniques, but just getting cut by something when ther are sharper things in your presence isn’t irony.

“Every-Day Carry”

Which sounds considerably more bad-ass than “I usually keep a pocketknife handy.”

Last time I did some impromptu surgery on myself, it was with a piece of chrome trim off a counter I was dismantling. Amazingly sharp.

Well, is this irony? I don’t think so, but…

I got a miniature Leatherman for Christmas. (I asked for it.) Anyway, 3 seconds after opening it I cut myself on the blade. Then I picked up the little instruction booklet, and the first thing it said was “WARNING! BLADE IS SHARP - HANDLE WITH CAUTION.”

D’oh!
