I did watch the video. I agree that Biden handled West just fine. I think candidates should be challenged in interviews though. Too many times, they are asked softballs. In the debates, all the answers were simply regurgitated talking points from the candidates stump speeches, although Biden was least guilty of this practice. I believe that journalists have failed us, especially in the last 8 years, but also before that. They don’t want to burn bridges with pols, so they don’t lose access. Or they don’t want to appear biased. West didn’t care about being biased. Conservative pols should have to appear on liberal shows and liberal pols should have to appear on conservative shows. Right now, TV news is just one big circle jerk.
This story has been on CNN all day long, which isn’t surprising, but they keep playing the “from each according to his ability/to each according to his need” “how’s Obama not a Marxist?” part. I thought the ACORN question was both more pointed/obviously partisan and that Biden did a better slap down on it. (Of course while IANA Marxis, I never understood how that particular Marx quote was incompatible with- or for that matter anything but totally compatible with- the teachings of Jesus “sell what you possess and give to the poor” Christ, alleged spiritual influence to West and other rabid anti-Marxists.)
