It’s never that fast. If you get a response at all. You also usually don’t get to add in an apology or other note of any kind either. It usually just goes to a generic error page.
So I suspect someone (who may or may not frequent the boards), may have had some kind of snit or hissy fit one day, put up the page in a bit of a huff, then forgot about it until it got found today.

I have gotten more and more withdrawn in the last year because of the exact same hting. I don’t even keep a public journal anymore to interact with my fans because certain people seem to love so much kicking you when you’re down, and insulting your life’s work just because they don’t feel it’s a worthwhile endeavour.
I’m glad you got it taken down quickly. No one really deserves that kind of thing from people that don’t even know them. It’s a shame the world has to be that way.
Interestingly, if you put “Eve Golden is a man” into Google, the site comes up with the current “apology”.
Yeah, that’s its cached result; the webcrawlers probably won’t hit the page with its new text for a few days or so.
Quite right. And do you notice that most of the people who kick you the most often haven’t done jack shit themselves? That’s usually the pattern. They’ve never done shit, (either because they’re too lazy/cowardly/have no potential) but they’re first in line to kick someone else who’s at least out there, busting their butt trying.

Too bad. I just clicked on your website – to see how worthless, etc. it was – and quite liked some of your stuff, particularly the pop art-y pieces. So while Eve is completely unoccupied with not letting the douchebags get her down, I strongly advise not letting “certain people” kicking you when you’re up, down, or all around.
