Those of you thinking of getting Vamp: The Rise and Fall of Theda Bara: do so. It’s wonderful. I’m about 50 pages from the end, and I’ve enjoyed every page of it. Eve is a great writer, and her subject is a most interesting person.

I’d like to formally apologize for my website, Eve. It was never meant as any harm whatsoever; but as an MPSIMS moderator, I need to keep careful track of who the posters are so that when bouts of weirdness occur- which always happen in MPSIMS- I can keep track of who’s whom. I have a single Tripod page devoted to every poster, with interesting tidbits such as IP address, birth sign, and favorite jazz singer.
As for the “don’t believe his lies”, well, that was just a typo. I didn’t catch on to the whole “when come back, bring pie” catchphrase until we were a few months into it, and I think in some thread you promising to deliver pie as a response to said catchphrase, and I stayed home from work to wait by the mailbox for two days running, all in the hopes of a delicious pie which would be accompanied by a note highlighting brilliant forgotton stars of Hollywood in the Hoover era. Said pie- and especially said note- never did show up, and so I appended my data page on you to include “Do not believe his pies.” Obvious, since P and L are right next to each other on the keyboard, I made a simple typing error, and I apologize for any grief which it caused you.

I don’t believe you’re talking about the SDMB’s Eve. It seems you are referring to Famed Moparts member DartGirl. I had to check HTF after I saw this and ran into several posts by DartGirl-who I knew as a member of Moparts.org. Unless that is our Eve too and I’m just a bit confused.
