You must be big fans of George Stubbs.

Odin, I’ve no idea, but the Horus comparisons are incorrect. Horus was not born of a virgin, did not die and was resurrected 3 days later. Zeitgeist has a considerable amount of responsibility for continuing these comparisons.
Obama’s voter registration card. Marked ‘Republican’.
As I see it, there are three possible things kanicbird can be: A prophet, a loony, or a troll.
A prophet would have been eager to tell us the details of his revelation (never mind that he would have chosen the SDMB to tell the world about it). There hasn’t been much time since he was asked, sure, but it doesn’t look promising.
A genuine loony wouldn’t even have noticed the questioning and negative responses to what he said, but would keep on declaiming. Again using the evidence of his lack of recent response, that looks doubtful too.
Which leaves troll. If he’s just been playing us in all of these threads, I’m not completely happy about that, but the results have certainly been entertaining. Perhaps this is one troll we should indulge?
Unless you’re advocating locking him up until his genitals cease functioning, you can’t prevent him from fathering a child. And unless you advocate some state official waiting eagerly to seize that child if kanic doesn’t parent it acceptably, you can’t prevent him from raising said child.
Besides, we’d don’t (or at least I don’t) have any idea what kanicbird does away from the SDMB. I’ll accept the possibility that his behaviour here is solely for his and our amusement.
…in which it came to pass, JRDelirious finds again a point of contact between kanicbird’s astonishingly astounding amazing position and the OP (remember the OP?)…
IOW, if we ever find the right wing’s much-vaunted “original handwritten” record-of-birth paper and that gets physically authenticated beyond a reasonable doubt, a large chunk of the Obama Citizenship Wingnuts would be satisfied and go away, but kanicbird will still have “major spiritual issues”.
And THAT, fellow Dopers, setting aside for one moment the easily-ridiculed supernatural factor, is what is behind SOME of the wackier OCWs’ insistence. That segment can’t believe it’s possible that THIS GUY really got to BE President of the US, fair and square, So Help Him God. Be it because of his sociocultural background, or his ideology (you just know all Real Americans are conservative). It just is completely inconsistent with their conception of reality, it doesn’t fit how a clean, fair process should turn out in their view of the universe. It is wrong for this guy to be in that position, because they can just feel it in their bones**, he will misrule America as the agent of something nefarious (demons? gay socialist illegal aliens? Bond Fund Managers? no difference) and it should have been obvious to anyone.
So it must be that he is not legitimate, lest it be claimed that America really wanted what he’s bringing. Either his election was invalid to start with (not really a citizen; illegal aliens voted fraudulently; someone at Diebold typed + instead of - when programming the vote machine
, whatever…) or he is under the control of hidden powers and the people were fooled as to his True Agenda.
Now… to you and to me, it would seem like the default explanation for any President who is putting forth policies we consider disastrous, is that as a candidate he succesfully seduced the voters by making them feel he was either “a regular doofus you’d have a beer with” or “a highly inspirational, intelligent and sexy leader with new ideas”, only to then once in power take his cues from the buddies who got him elected, be their names Cheney and Rove or Pelosi and Emmanuel, and rule to favor the interests of supporters and mentors who stay quietly behind the scenes… Like virtually every one of the bloody bastards has ever done since living memory!! There’s no need to assemble a Dan Brown-style plot. It’s the way the system IS. The other guy WILL establish the agenda of HIS circle, contrary to what YOU/I think is best. DUH! That does not mean nefarious machinations, it means the voters sometimes DO want something other than what you/I offer them… or just in all good faith vote for the “wrong” guy. Our lot then is to lobby and campaign to oppose and replace the bad rulers in due time, and in the meantime demand that they at least show respect for rule of law and proper procedures and implement their agendas w/o committing any major crimes or ruining the country.
…but it’s so much more satisfying to believe you are bravely facing a conspiracy of power…
Nope. It’s an allusion to a Spenser novel. I started it and my sisters passed it on to their girls.
Well, I’m not advocating that, and I never said I did.
What I did say is that he’s not exactly a poster boy for how super it is that it’s not done anymore.
Kanicbird, I too await your answer to post #462. I suspect I will find it interesting.
It was written on a popsicle stick.
Man, and all this time my checks to the Western Washington Temple of Ba’al have been sent back as undeliverable. Now I know where to send 'em.
Hell, I still want to hear about his degrees in science. But, y’know, I’m thinkin’ I’m never gonna.
OMG!? Don’t tell me kanicbird is The Stig!
He got them directly from God, who’s unfortunately not accredited.
Maybe nobody cares what he thinks. His opinion of Obama’s citizenship means absolutely nothing.
Tell me, kanicbird, are you a sect of one, or do your interpretations of Scripture reflect the doctrine of some known denomination?
