So what?
Didn’t Michael Moore join the NRA just so he could do his film? What’s the difference?
And really, if she’s been a “prominent member of the gun control lobby”, why are they complaining?
I don’t see the problem here.
Good.

I think you mean “Yee-haw”.

I wonder if she was packing heat at the meetings.

I’ll third this.
How many spies do the gun grabbers have in the NRA and GOA? I’m sure the answer is not 0.

He claims he was a lifetime member well before the film. Do you have evidence to think otherwise?
Do people really have nothing better to do with their time? What the hell do you gain by infiltrating anti-gun clubs “at the highest levels”? A fez in every color?
If an animal rights group is willing to use explosives to achieve their ends, why should I take their word for it when they all start pointing fingers at the infiltrator, who was actually a contractor hired by their target? Am I supposed to believe that they’d use terror tactics to get their way, but draw the line at lying?

It’s one thing to keep tabs on the other side. It’s another thing to conspire to commit terrorist acts with them, or indeed, to prod the other side into terrorist acts.

Political espionage:
Is this really that surprising? Heck, just take a 10-minute scan of GD and tell me the SDMB hasn’t been infiltrated by the pro-ignorance movement on a sizeable scale.

Perhaps, but sitting in at the open-to-the-public meetings and taking notes is one thing, and routine, and all I would reasonably attribute to the “spies” you postulate; volunteering for organization-related activities, making friends with the leaders, and working your way into a high-level position of trust and responsibility, all under false and treacherous pretenses, is quite another.

Yes, of course – but they’re not making any secret of who they are! ![]()
I honestly don’t see a problem here.

Maybe the *Mother Jones * people can put down the weed long enough to investigate the Pope’s religion or the state of matter of water?
It’s bizarre. Mother Jones’s whole thing is that they’re supposed to be a radical left publication. A heavy dose of “off the pig” anti-police sentiment and fear of the military, and an extremely strong distrust of the government.
And yet…who do they want to have the monopoly on gun ownership? Why…the government.
Abbie Hoffman would be spinning over in his grave. There was a whole chapter in Steal This Book about different kinds of guns and how to get them.
[QUOTE=Abbie Hoffman]
There are two commonly available types of rifles; the bolt action and the semi-automatic. War surplus bolt action rifles are cheap and usually pretty accurate, but have a slower rate of fire than a semi-automatic. A semi-automatic is preferable in nearly all cases. The M-1 carbine is probably the best semi-automatic for the money (about $80). It’s light, short, easy to handle and has only the drawback of a cartridge that’s a little underpowered. Among bolt actions, the Springfield, Mauser, Royal Enfield, Russian 7.62, and the Lee Harvey Oswald Special, the Mannlicher-Carcano, are all good buys for the money (about $20).

I’ll never get why people who believe that we are living in a fascist state, want the population disarmed.
Huh. I heard about this about two weeks ago. Sadly, I agree with Argent here. I don’t trust the government… why the hell do I want them all to have guns?
