I’m working on an NT 4.0 machine that’s been a stand alone. Now we’ve acquired a new machine for the geologists that runs Windows 2000. We’d like to share the plotter on my machine.
For whatever reason I can’t seem to share anything on my machine. If I share the plotter, I get a message telling me printer settings could not be saved. If I go to the properties dialog box for a hard drive, the share tab is not there. I’ve connected NT and WFWG machines before without a problem, but I’m stopped for now. I am an Administrator on this machine.
I don’t know if this is relevant or not, but our IT guy was in town a month or so ago and installed the IT folks’ preferred virus protection software, a program called InoculateIT, that requires another software suite from Computer Associates called Unicenter TNG Framework. The CA software appears to be PC management software and I run into bits and pieces of it all over the place.
Anyway, does anybody have any ideas about how I might reacquire the ability to share stuff?
