Well, since you aren’t watching this season I won’t go into too much detail, but Kevin does have a reason to be suspicious of Jackie not wanting to go to the hospital with him. I’d think by now he’d be suspicious anyway.
Which kinda bugged me because when Kevin introduced Jackie to Eddie, she could have just told him they already knew each other from work…but then we’d lose out on the tension
So Eddie knows about Kevin? Ooooh.
I’ll probably re-sub to Showtime for Dexter, and maybe I can catch Nurse Jackie in reruns.
Is that what happened? Kevin wanted to take the kids to Jackie’s hospital for treatment or something and she said no?
I will have to wait until it comes out on DVD (only have basic cable). It looks like a show I’d like. And I’m with hellpaso–diverting narcs and other drugs happens quite a bit. You’d be amazed at the creativity of people (pts and staff). Counts, fingerprint ID, pass-codes etc–they’re only as good as the implementers. And bottom line is the system works on trust–often with addicts, the drug is never given to the patient and the documentation is falsified. Sadly, this means that a pt in pain remains in pain.
And I’ve only know one male nurse who was gay in 24 years of nursing. Most are married with kids and great nurses.
How much do you want to know?
Here’s a quick outline
Eddie wound up in Kevin’s bar and figured out that he was Jackie’s husband, but didn’t let on that he knows Jackie
Eddie starts hanging out with Kevin, going out to bars, baseball games etc…
Eddie is getting a bit more intense with this, showing up at the house to hang out with Eddie, all of them (Eddie, his new GF, Kevin and Jackie) going out together etc…
When confronted Eddie came right out and said he’s black mailing her. She stops sleeping with him, he’ll tell Kevin
No shit? Well that’s just being an asshole. A needy asshole – the worst kind. Does he think he and Jackie were in love? Was he in love?
If Jackie didn’t admit to Kevin she knew Eddie from the hospital, that’s just sloppy writing. Jackie’s supposed to be smart, and even if you’re not smart, that’s what you’d do – you wouldn’t try to hide it.
Maybe I won’t bother to watch.
Jackie has already admitted to being in love with him. I don’t recall if she said it to him, but she said it to someone, O’Hara I think.
Yup. O’Hara was over at the house when the two girls got into a fight and the younger one got a split lip. Kevin wanted to take her to the hospital to get stitched but Jackie overode him and they stitched her on the kitchen table. Kevin was polite about it when O’Hara was there, but later that night they got into an argument about Jackie never being around and as Mr. Mom, if he wants to take his kid to the hospital he should damn well be able to take his kid to the hospital. Jackie basically said, “what do you know? You’re a bartender.”
Funny, I didn’t even think about the fact that she didn’t want to bring her personal life to work, I just figured you have a nurse and a doctor and (apparently) the tools needed to do this nice and quick and safely at home in the kitchen so why not? But it does make me wonder what she’s going to do if it’s something bigger happens, like cutting off a finger or a heart attack. How is she going to explain why she wants to go sit in the waiting room at the ER across town instead of jumping to the front of the line at her place and probably getting the work done for free too. I wonder if this was a bit of foreshadowing, perhaps in the coming episodes she’ll be high an stressed out and get in to a car accident, or Kevin will. Which ever way, they’ll both wind up at the hospital at the same time. If Eddy is working there again, I think he could keep a lid on things. We know O’Hara can keep a secret and the only other person that I think knows about Eddy is Zoe and as much as it would drive her nuts I think she’d keep quiet as well.
If Eddy starts working at the hospital, he’s bound to tell Kevin - which will be weird. But the real danger, is what happens if Sam finds out about Kevin and Eddy? Or Coop?
I think Eddie’s worse than an asshole - he’s a sociopath. She should have gotten a restraining order and stopped answering his calls a long time ago.
I wanna know what happened with her OD’ing at the end of last season - we ended with her on the floor, out, and then it was never referred to this season at all! Oh, and I miss Momo.
Yeah, they never mentioned it. I figured she’s such a hardcore druggie that it didn’t end up an OD.
BTW, why aren’t nurses subject to random drug tests? Are they afraid they’d lose half their nurses? Or do they not test for the types of drugs she uses?
I knew a nurse who actually lost her license due to her drug addiction. I think the problem with testing is that the drugs they are using are not illegal, just not prescribed for them. It may come down to privacy issues and what not. I’m not saying that a blind eye is turned to the problems, it is just that unless they are screwing up at work they are able to go on about their work. The nurse I knew just got to a point where it she couldn’t hide it anymore, after 4 years. She refused to go to rehab, she was taking painkillers and benzos. Since they were “legal” drugs, she didn’t belong with junkies.
Also, back injuries tend to be very common in nurses, which is what Jackie says is causing her pain. What I can’t believe is that O’Hara seems to be clueless as to Jackie’s addiction. The dam is going to break and all will come out sooner or later.
I really love Zoe and see that she is totally becoming a mini-Jackie, minus the drugs. It warms my heart. I do hope that she and Lenny get together.
Coop is a huge tool and I wish Lenny had hit him a few more times.
That happened at the end of the first season; Eddie followed Jackie at the end of her shift and saw her go to the bar. He watched for a little and saw her interact with her family in a way that left no questions. That was the big cliffhanger.
