I’d be all for a weekend thing in Brooklyn, but a weeknight thing is hard for me to manage. Midtown is really convenient for me, but anywhere in Manhattan will do. That Flight 451 place was good.
The Carmine’s on the upper West side is both overpriced and highly, highly overrated. I would not suggest it.
I’ll put my vote in for John’s followed by Paul’s. Though, anything would really work.
Biggirl, why don’t we all try to arrange a Saturday thing in Brooklyn some time? Manhattan is easier for me during the week (as lurker pointed out), but I do want to try to make it to Brooklyn some time…
The latest news is: I’ll won’t be able to be in NYC on Thursday. Instead, I’ll be arriving on Friday, Nov. 9th. Enjoy the pizza and have a beer for me. Now, if we wanted to do a Brooklyn thing Saturday November 10th, I’m all about that.
So, any more ideas for Thursday night or are we going to do John’s?

How 'bout John’s Pizzeria in the Village?
Is that the place you guys went to the weekend I had my sister’s wedding (around the begining of October?) I’d be up for that. Actually, I’m up for any resonably priced place where I can get lots of alcohol and good food, with plenty of room to talk to Dopers I haven’t seen in awhile.

John’s in the Village (the original John’s) is indeed smaller than its Midtown counterpart. So, I called them and asked if they could accommodate a group of 12-15 people this Thursday, sevenish. No problem.
