“O Ye Trolls, We Hardly Knew Ye” - Did pashley and CBoomer actually count as trolls? I thought they were just annoying, really bad debators.
My thoughts are that threads like this are a form of feeding the trolls. It reminds me of a kid getting kicked out of school and all the other kids running to the window, watching him leave, jeering and sticking their tongues out. I’m really bewildered at why so many people get so much pleasure out of talking about these people.

andros, you’re absolutely correct. I thought about not responding, but my other options would have been to start a new thread or just ignore all of this. I’ve been ignoring all of this for awhile and I didn’t want to start a new thread because I don’t want Esprix to think I’m trying to start some flame war with him. I have wanted to express my views on this for awhile, though, and Esprix asked what our thoughts were.
So…
I believe that making statements like “You’re a troll” (when the poster is simply really annoying), “You should leave this board”, “We think you’re annoying”, and “What label should we slap on people who aren’t trolls but who we don’t like” are the words of a bully who is purposely trying to find someone to berate, abuse, and point fingers at for the sole purpose of making him or herself feel better. It’s gangsterism. It seems like a very sick pastime to me.
I am perfectly aware that by making this statement, I will be flamed and jeered and accused of defending posters who a lot of people don’t like. I am not defending in any way what they say or how they say it. I am only making the point that I personally think the bullies are nearly as bad.
To heaven, like a good woman- and god-loving Christian! Ok, ok, so I’m going right to hell. But even sooner, my job a l’ordinateur ends, and I go back to school, which means that my posting here will be replaced, for better or for worse, with a real life.
You’ll recall that I was the catalyst of CB’s ruin. I’m perversely proud of that. On the other hand, I kinda liked the guy.
