Zeldar, will you be running your game again? I may miss the first two weeks, depending on when it goes up. Going to Vegas and vicinity for my 5th anniversary the first full weekend in September, and will have limited time/internet access. I’ll play after that, though…
Also, I am wondering why you don’t include Thursday games? I know, Thursday games are an abomination on par with the designated hitter, but ignoring them isn’t going to make they go away.
Actually, every FBS team except Hawaii is still undefeated.
And there is a reason there weren’t many games this weekend; in Division I, you can’t play your first game before the Thursday just before Labor Day except if:
(a) you get an NCAA waiver;
(b) it’s a game between two FCS teams on nationally broadcast TV, provided only one team per conference gets an “early game” and no team plays an early game three seasons in a row - this is to allow something called the “FCS Kickoff”; this year, North Dakota State beat Charleston Southern in OT;
or (c) one of the teams involved has an away game at Hawaii at some point - I think it’s there because those teams are allowed to have 13-game regular seasons, although there is no requirement that the team in question have 13 games on its schedule (and, in fact, nobody besides Hawaii has a 13-game schedule this season).
I would like to thank the Richmond Spiders for coming through in my ridiculous upset pick of the week. I’m in first place after the first week, but A) I will probably forget to submit my picks once or twice and B) my homerism when it comes to using my top pick on the Florida Gators is sure to cost me some points this year.
Yeah, seems like I manage to screw something up in the settings every year. Last year it was using the spread. This year it’s too many games to pick each week. Oops.
Looks like I’m in last place at the moment.
Some good games coming up this weekend…Bama/Ole Miss, LSU/Miss St, Oh St/Oklahoma (my apologies to Bill Watts, Jim Ross, and the late Steve Williams, but I married a Buckeye, so no Boomer Sooner in this house).
