The NYT says that Obama said he ordered it Sunday so it looks like the rumors were off or Obama’s lying. But the latter seems unlikely.

MSNBC just replayed that part of the speech. Obama says that he authorized the mission last week, but he gave the order to attack today. Easy to confuse, as I did.
