Which is evidence that no sane person should pay any attention whatsoever to anything said on Town Hall. Seriously, you’re not helping your cause, here.
Well, they consider me left wing on TH, I’ll admit that. And, yeah, most of them are from teh crazy end of the gene pool.
But that is pretty effin’ funny.
“First Wookie”. Hysterical. That is one hideous looking woman.
Ah, you’re just afraid of equality.
Enough already. We don’t need a thread of ‘The First Lady is ugly’ ‘Nuh-uh!’ If nobody is interested in the scandal topic, I’ll lock this.
I think even those who loathe Obama have to admit, there has never been the slightest hint of marital infidelity. If there ever were, we would have heard that particular drum being pounded until it broke.
Prior to Bill Clinton, Presidential Peccadilloes were not reported. The “serious news” outlets ignored George H.W. Bush’s “office wife” Jennifer Ann Isobel Patteson-Knight Fitzgerald through his entire political career, even when she went with him to China instead of Barbra.
I think George W. Bush was the worst president in the history of the country, but he was loyal to his wife (probably has something to do with being the son of a cheater).
Cite that they were “not reported” in People and the New York Post, and that Hillary Clinton made reference to the supposed relationship in a Vanity Fair interview. (That being said, I didn’t know about this or I forgot about it.) A story like this would be covered differently today than it was 20 years ago.
As I said “serious news”.
I’m of two minds about your argument. On the one hand, the NY Post, People, and Vanity Fair are read by millions of people. Even Kitty Kelly admits (after six or seven pages) that the Post made the Bush-Fitzgerald relationship a front-page story. On the other, yes, it’s gossipy and in the '80s and '90s it’s not necessarily something the papers would have spent time on. There was no TMZ back then.
The thing is, the serious newspapers back then ignored the New York Post. I didn’t hear of it until Spy magazine made it a cover story, and they only did it in a fit of pique after the press started digging into Bill Clinton’s affairs. It was the hypocrisy that brought it up.
He didn’t say nobody ever heard of it. He said that the s. didn’t hit the fan till 98.
I thought you are a recovering Republican? You sound like you’re still suffering from the disorder!
He had a relapse. I told him, you have to take all the pills, not just some of the pills. Does he listen? Nope.
Secret Service scandal? Watergate? Anyone? Anyone?
A bunch of SS and military personnel soliciting prostitutes is not a poor reflection on Obama, especially as the people in question are in deep doo-doo, an investigation is underway and Obama is seriously pissed off. He’s not supposed to have to hold their hands every moment - he’s their CiC, not their mother.
Come back when Obama is soliciting the prostitutes himself.
Not yet. Said Obama: “If it turns out that some of the allegations made in the press are confirmed, then of course I’ll be angry.”
That’s exactly what we need to tell the President’s detractors. This is just another distraction that has nothing to do with the President, only with the Secret Service agents who, unfortunately for them, are involved. Which is why Obama will not have a Lewinsky scandal.
Huh? What does Watergate have to do with prostitutes?
Thanks for playing, but no, not unless it turns out Obama was partying with these guys. It’s scandalous and unprofessional, though. Or it’s unprofessional of the Secret Service agents and soliders and a hell of an advertisement for the working girls, I guess. The biggest scandal of the administration to this point is Fast and Furious, but that’s not the personal type of scandal we’re talking about in this thread.
Yes, the scandal we’re talking about in this thread is the Secret Service scandal which, again, has nothing to do with the President, only with the Secret Service agents who, unfortunately for them, were involved.
No, that’s the scandal you’re talking about in this thread. The kind of scandals the rest of us are talking about are ones that would be at all relevant to Obama himself.
