Obama's infomercial

No, he’s voting Green Party, not because he thinks they’ll win or because he knows what they stand for (other than, uh, Green stuff), but because he doesn’t want to “throw away” his vote in a state where Obama’s nearly certain to win (Illinois). He wants the two party system to give way to a third party, and figures the only way for that to happen is for people to start voting for a third party. And that part of his logic, I really can’t fault him for. But to insist that Obama’s not being forthcoming with information - that’s the part I don’t grok.

McCain stands for being a maverick. He sure didn’t win Miss Congeniality, and he’s got the scars to prove it. You betcha.

:dubious:

It’s hidden really deep on the internets tubes.

Is it a case of “my mind is made up, don’t confuse me with the facts”?

I’ll bet my sweet bippy that those people were thoroughly checked out before filming and that there’s nothing embarrassing in their background (nothing that can be unearthed in the next five days anyway).

I checked there though, and his “comprehensive” plan is a 6-page PDF that doesn’t go into that many specifics, especially for businesses.

This is a neat, easy way to see the tax plans compared BUT I don’t know how accurate it is.

So the ratings are in. 33.5 million viewers. Not bad for a commercial. Mind you nothing compared to the VP debate - about 70 million. And in “comparison, the final debate between the two presidential candidates drew 56.5 million U.S. viewers on October 15. The candidates’ first debate on September 26 drew 52.4 million viewers; their second debate, on October 7, drew 63.2 million viewers.”

I’ve still only caught a little of it on YouTube but my son who lives in Japan (who watched on YouTube) was impressed. Sure many who watched were the choir but they are perhaps even more revved to vote now, and the marginal supporters who watched are now sealed.

It makes a change. He used to only say, “I have a plan.” or “I know how to do this.” and I always thought: well, what is your plan? What, exactly, do you know how to do? How do you know it? Why is it good/effective/appropriate?
I never got any answers. I’m not all that interested in finding them now.

Maybe. But I was hoping **Khadaji **might have a better answer than my friend does; usually he’s a pretty thoughtful poster.

I know that but he’s on a work visa but has a US address and credit card–they’re not too far along in the process yet.
