Balinger had little in the way of an acting career, mainly acting in various Jack Webb productions, typically as “the skipper” (which he and his partner called their boss). He might have been a LA area personality for his voice. He did have a good announcer voice. Anyway, the reason I ask is that I recently read that the other Webb “Art”, Art Gilmore (also a frequent “skipper” and one of the finest voice-over talents in movie history), is still alive and doing well in his 90s. I always thought that Balinger was older than Gilmore, and I can find no info of any kind on Balinger since a voice bit in the 1978 turkey The Swarm.
