I am trying to find a piece of music-it was played by the Boston Pops, under the late Arthur Fiedler. As I recall, it was commissoned by a german steelmaker-the music was interrupted evert few minutes by the sound of a hammer banging on steel. As I recall, the idea was to show that the steeel made by this guy was proof against burglars.
Anyway, anybody know the name of this piece?
Here’s the “Feuerfest” polka (on YouTube), the piece I was thinking of when you asked this 2 years ago!
Okay, I got the title and the first name of the composer wrong. Details.
“Feuerfest” means “refractory” or “fireproof”, not “burglar-proof”. But I’ll bet this definitely is the piece you heard.
P.S. I found it in the wiki entry for “anvil”. Anvil - Wikipedia
I just ordered the CD.
thnks for your help! I couldn’t find it on Google.
