Obscure question: Age of 'Southwest Little Miss Cotton' contestants

Apparently at one time, there was a “Little Miss Cotton” contest in the 1950s and 1960s that might have been connected to the “Maid of Cotton” contest, but for much younger girls. References to it are sparse, though. Anyway, what ages were eligible for the ‘Little Miss Cotton’ contests?

There’s one now, if it’s the same one.

Little Miss Cotton in 1959 for girls ages 6 - 10. There was a contest held at Jordan Marsh in Miami. I was one of 10 finalists. The winner went to the national contest held in Memphis in May 1959.
