Obsession du Jour

Jeesh!! This thing is almost on the second page fer cryin out loud! All those who are not currently on their way to campin or beachin need to check in.

Hey, Swampy, don’t they have direct deposit up there in Jawja??? I have direct deposit. I like it cause it means I don’t hafta waste a lunch hour drivin alla way up to the bank to put in a paper check. Sometimes I get bonus checks cause my bidness won’t direct deposit them and then I DO gotta drive to the bank. Usually the check sits in my wallet for a coupla days till I get off my butt and drive to the bank. Anyhoo, I’m surprised that Ms. Huffy hasn’t started a direct deposit campaign at your place.

I’m so glad that I’m not the only one that will let checks ride around in my purse of a shile before I deposit them! The way I think of it is that I’m giving the check a fuller life than most checks live, a bit of travel, a chance to rub up against shopping lists and sales receipts, to get just a tad gummy from the pack of gum. Face it, a check don’t have a very varied life–it hangs around with other checks the same as it, enclosed first in their own little box, and later, a cover or wallet. Finally, it is its turn to fulfill its destiny, the opportunity of participate in this great experiment that is capitalism: TA-DA!! the check–a vital component in the exchange of goods! It sounds so noble, but really, most checks end up paying for lunch or a oil change, very few get those memorable experiences of being the last payment on the mortgage or a deposit on the dream vacation. Then thecheck goes to the bank, is processed, micofilmed and then, put into storage, in a big box with a bunch of other checks just like it. What a sad circle of life.

At least my checks get a bit of adventure first.

Nope, no olives of any color. We’re pretty sure the cat is just whacko. But he finally has a name - Zen. Not that it matters - he doesn’t respond when called. Typical cat.

Puggy we don’t have direct deposit where I work. However, it may happen. See, I’ve been championing direct deposit for the past five years. We are now in the midst of a survey to see how many employees would like direct deposit and a couple other things which I can’t remember right now. They’re not important though. I’m actively campaigning for direct deposit. Well, I mean, been talking to others about the benefits of it so as to influence their votes. I ain’t puttin’ up billboards and running media ads. Well, not yet anyway.

Kalley the checks around here are special. They get to have me sign them. That oughta be enough to make any check feel special, dontcha think?

FCM none of my friends will let me name their cats. Appparently “Hairball” and “Alpo” are not seen as appropriate names for cats.

Hello. I’m SWAMP BEAR and I approve this message.
