The one that appears, even for board subscribers, when you leave the SD main page for one of the Perfect Master’s columns or the boards.
It’s from Lee Kum Kee, the folks who make those 5-ml packets of soy sauce you get at Panda Express but what they’re advertising is soy sauce powder. Curious about why I’d want to use powdered soy sauce, I clicked on the link and it was by Lee Kum Kee Industrial and what they were selling was 25-kilo drums of the stuff.*
I’m not sure who it was that figured SD readers are in the market for cooking on an industrial scale, but at least the ad doesn’t start blaring lectures after it loads like some of them do.
*Or maybe a pallet load of 27 drums; it’s hard to tell
Just think of the money you could save! You go into the local Japanese Hibachi grill. You order a bowl of steamed rice for $3. When it’s served you open the 50 gallon drum, grab some soy powder, sprinkle it on the rice, spit, stir and - voila! - fried rice! You just saved a buck 98!
ETA - do this on a date and not only do you save $3.96, but you impress your date with your resourcefulness!
Re-edited to add - Keep a barrel in the trunk of your car and you can have some flavor variety in your road kill suppers! The possibilities are endless!
