I’ve never heard of this until recently. The flavor profile sounds aaaaamazing.
Who’s had it? What should I pair it with?

Isn’t it a dessert wine?
Try it with chocolate.
And they’re looking for something to do with Andrew…
Malmsey or Malvazia to give its Madeiran name is the wine that Madeira is most famous for and is a dark rich sweet wine, with a musky fragrant nose, this is a very sweet wine that lingers on the palate. Malmsey has vanilla notes, along with molasses, walnuts and caramel.
This Blandy’s 10 years old Malmsey has note of fruit and marmalade as well as gentle burnt sugar aroma. Well balanced with a smooth viscous texture and perfect acidity.
This Malmsey wine from certain different producers has coffee flavours and other wines are more noted for dried fruit especially raisins. Other producers’ wines exhibit honey notes, but as all the wines age the flavours can be said to become darker exhibiting dark chocolate, coffee, cinnamon notes and spices along with a stronger note of dried fruit creeping into the wine.
I have had it once, a bit like aged ruby port.
That sounds great, I always thought it was something from Elizabethan times.
Discussing Madeira wine always begs for this little ditty from Flanders and Swann. For those who haven’t heard it before – Have Some Madeira M’dear.
Funny, that.
I’ve had sweet malvazia, it goes well with cheese, especially blue or aged cheese. Also chocolate and pastries.
