Home and all digital now! My appointment was for “any time between 1 and 5” and by golly, they got here just a few minutes after 1! Took 'em almost 90 minutes to do everything, but I now have digital phone with free long distance in the US and Canada! Huzzah! Plus other features I haven’t figured out yet. But yay!
It’s hyuuuuuuumid here - even tho it was 74 in the house, the humidity was 83%, so I had to close up and put the AC on. I hate having to do that, but if it’s bothering me, I just know it’d bother my sweetie.
Daughter is gone for 10 days - she’s house-and-dog sitting not to far from her school. She is planning to come here, with the dog, on Saturday, but mostly she’ll just stay over there. Easy way to earn a little vacation money.
I was asking around at work about a fishing charter for my nephew that wouldn’t cost me a fortune. One woman emailed me that her husband did that, and the price she quoted was really good. Then she emailed me a little later to tell me that didn’t include the gratuity.
WTF?? 
If you want more than $60 per person for a full day of fishing, then charge more, dammit. Don’t expect me to shell out extra just because. Sheesh. I was all excited about this guy, but now I’m just pissed. I need to find a local Doper who fishes who’ll take Robert out one day. I’ll even supply the beer…
So, Wednesday is over. Training for a couple of hours tomorrow. Open calendar so far on Friday. I was supposed to be going to a meeting on Monday, but I haven’t heard back, and since it’s classified, if they don’t confirm my clearance, they won’t let me in. So I dunno if I’m going or not.
Just not my day. C’mon, Firday!!
Howdy Y’all! Two down and three to go. Yeah, I live in an alternate world now so tomorrow is now hump day.
Sad news. Ol’ Y’all know who’s uncle (aunt’s hubby) died. Not a surprise because it’s been comin’ for like six years now but still sad. Poor baby. He’s gotta drive up to Birmingham tomorrow. The funeral is Friday and he says he’s comin’ on back after the funeral. I think his mom had some idea he’d just wander on down to the wilds of West Alabammy but he says he explained that no he would not before or after the funeral. Good for him. I nagged him about gettin’ his funeral suit cleaned a couple of weeks ago until he took it to the cleaners. Bet he’s glad now.
I hate iphones. Just thought I’d let y’all know that. Yep, it is all work related. We all hate iphones. Hate! Hate! Hate! Plus we don’t like 'em!

Hope your daughter feels better soon, Soapy! I’ve never gotten poison ivy, but my dad is super allergic to it so I stay far far away. And yay on the house cleaner. We started last summer having someone come monthly to clean our house, and it’s wonderful. Yeah, we have to do a big organization before they come (It’s 4 women, but it’s an independent company, not like Merry Maids or anything.), but that in and of itself is nice. When we clean the house ourselves, we usually just clean around the mess. But when the housecleaners come, we have to organize, and it’s so much nicer once that’s done. And then they come, and everything’s sparkling clean, and it smells nice, and we get a week off from having to do the cleaning part. I love it.
I’m feeling much more productive today than yesterday. I didn’t even check my email or log on to the 'Dope until after lunch!
Great pictures, gt. I’m enjoying reading about what you saw and did; it’s making me look forward to a big European trip someday. And a trip to Iceland too, especially if rigs has good things to say!

Just found out yesterday that our own **BusDude **is here in my neck of the woods. But he seems to think it’s more important to spend vacation time with his family than pay homage to me. Guess I know where I rate! 
Well, I do know several ho’s but I’m not close to their uncles.
I am sick sick I say of all the calls about the new iPhone. AAAAAARRRRRGGGHHHHH!!! Just go to the dang ATT store and preorder one already people! Quit callin’ us! No! You cannot order one over the phone. You have never, never, ever, never been able to order an iPhone over the phone! Why do you even think you can now! Jeez!
That’s why I hate iPhone.
I will, however, be over it by around July 1st.

Thanks again for all the compliments, everyone. It’s been fun to write everything up (it’s kind of my retroactive travel journal). And, yes, it’s easy to take good pictures of Paris, because the city is just photogenic.
Nope, didn’t have our portraits done, rigs. We’ll do that next time. I think our trips were similar. For me, it was a chance to get my bearings and see some of the main sights. There are lots more parts of Paris I’d like to visit. I’d also like to spend a lot more time in the Louvre and the Musee d’Orsay.
Oh…and, also for rigs: would you like to get us started out on Monday? We’d all love to see your pictures, of course.
And Nava: cathedral, basilica, they’re all the same.

The prednisone has really kicked in and her face is much, much less swollen! She still has a bright red rash across her face, neck, arms etc, but she feels a lot better. She can open her eyes wide now!
Buuuut-- I picked up teh boy from school at dismissal- running a fever. :smack:
They wait until their dad goes out of town and all hell breaks loose. Good thing they are ador-e-bull.
