I don’t get his relationship with Dwight. Dwight sucks up to him and Michael pushes him aside. Why is that? Analyze, please!

Michael doesn’t like himself, so he’s wary of anyone who likes him.
drm, if I remember right, Michael tricked Dwight into thinking that Dwight was going to be made manager, and that Michael would be under him. Dwight faked about two seconds of so-sorry and then set about gleefully taking over.
