With over a half-dozen different SW threads already active, somebody had to do it, so here goes.

Quick first impressions:
It’s at least a 100% improvement over “Attack of the Clones” The fact that we’re getting to the real meat of the story helps quite a bit, but the acting is looser and much better (although it’s still not up to the standards of Harrison, Carrie and Mark), the dialoge is 89% cringe-free, the pacing is good, and the entire production exhibits a level of discipline that seemed missing from the other two. I’d say it’s AT LEAST as good as “Jedi,” if not better. I was one happy geek last night.
What a fabulous movie! As I was saying, all the prequals were leading up to this and it sure did not dissapoint. The CGI which looked somewhat cheesy back in TPM is jaw dropping here. This is the best looking movie I’ve ever seen. It blows LOTR trilogy out of the water. The action is non stop and the dialogue isn’t bad (as good as the original trilogy). McGregor is perfect as Obi-Wan, Christensen plays Anakin well, and McDiamid is excellent as Palpatine.
I would have liked to have seen Anakin’s fall more streached out, but the movie was over 2 hours as it was! That said, I was satisfied that keeping Padme alive turned him.
And I like the visual touches at the end. Padme’s burial procession shows that they faked the twins dying when Padme did.
And how much fun to see a proto-Death Star?
I’d have to say this is perhaps the best Star Wars movie aside from ESB.
Oh, I also liked the aging of Palpatine. It seemed like he planned it that way. To make him seem even MORE weak, thus having Anakin ‘save’ him and to show the Senate that the Jedi tried to kill him.
Look, gang, we got about half a dozen threads on this one. OK, I exaggerate slightly, but only slightly.
My suggestion: everyone go to Thoughts on Revenge of the Sith. That’s the longest thread at the moment, and it seems easier to close this one and send you all to that one… even though this one is titled “official.”
If you request, I may merge them all in the next day or so.
