My real problem is that he believes he’s doing something beyond partisan hackery when that’s exactly what he does. Although he also comes off as being thoroughly arrogant and overbearing.
Eh, I’ve read the New Yorker piece. I especially like the part about how his coanchor “Suzy” at ESPN would go cry because Keithie was so mean to her! I’m sure Olbermann is a egomaniacal patronizing ass, but you don’t let people like that run roughshod over you. I’m also loath to trust Rupert Murdoch’s opinion of anyone’s mental health.
Would you call it partisan hackery? He did criticize Obama for not prosecuting Bush administration officials for torture. I don’t ever recall anyone on FOX criticizing Bush for anything. Maybe a little on Harriet Myers, but I don’t recall anything else.
He’s in opinion journalism. He’s not supposed to be objective. He’s also pretty good at exposing the lies thrown around on FOX news. No one else seems to do that. So for however superficial his program is, it is a valid liberal view point, and one that is not full of disingenuous misinformation.
Oh, thank God for google images. For a horrified moment I mixed up Olbermann with Alan Colmes mentally, and thought we were going to have to have a35362 commited for observation.
