Bwaaaahaahaaa! Wonder how that makes him feel. To be rejected in favor of a scumbag cockhound like Spitzer. I never could stand that pompous ass even when I agreed with him. I used to be amused by his Bush rants, but the guy’s shtick palls very quickly. Sounds like his current gig is barely watched, so it’s not like many will mourn his passing.
I would actually watch that.
I just got FIOS. And there’s Current TV. So I figure go ahead and look at what that fool is doing these days. And there’s DickBrain hosting the show. Probably would have been the only time I tuned to that channel anyway.
Me, too. That would be hilarious. Watching him trying to lay into Fox without laying into Fox. His big head just might explode.
I only watch things off the intarwebz, and Current TV isn’t popular enough to have an online source, so I’ve seen all of two episodes of the new Countdown. It was as good as the previous show, aside from the bargain-basement production values and their shitty flag station ID.
Olbermann is a polemic, not a reporter, and he’s very good at that. And he’s certainly orders of magnitude more honest than anyone on FOX News, but I see why some might dislike him.
That said, at some point being hard to work with will bite you. I wonder what his next step is. Glenn Beck-style internet presence?

I don’t much like him, as one egotistic asshole generally does not like another. And he holds his public persona dearly, as it is likely pretty much the only life he has. But he put that on the line to speak the truth when the rest of them were hemming and hawing and trying to be non-committal. He spoke truth to power, and that’s balls. Give him the credit he is due.
He probably should have stuck to sports. He knows his shit there. But this is what, the third, fourth time he’s been fired?

I only caught his show once on Current, but used to watch it semi-regularly on MSNBC.
I couldn’t tolerate the fact that he was wearing a turtle-neck, and the background was just black… no ticker that I remember… it was a joke. Is all of current tv like that? They really hope to be like FOX, MSNBC or CNN??? It was like watching my old university channel, honestly.
They need to get on the ball. If Keith was irascible over the fact that they needed to invest more in technology and making the network flashier, he was justified.
