Navaan – still killin’ it at 84. (SFW, BTW)
Don’t think that’s her – no cheek stripes, the assassin outfit is not the same as her usual, and why would she age?
Yeah, Naveens a vampire. She’s never going to age.
OK, and because of a book I was reading back in the winter, I knew the historical person portrayed in this week’s installment: XII.
Yeah, I didn’t get today’s. Is Saint Ambrose the key?
No I think it’s just a straight up fart joke - as in the pope has someone pull “his” finger which is actually a relic of Saint Ambrose, causing the corpse of the latter to fart.
I love the “arson, murder and jaywalking” nature of the account of his depravity - incest and adultery, murder, devil-worship … and celebrating Matins at the wrong time.
Ok, that makes sense.
Right, as MrDibble accurately points out it fits in with the near absurd pile-on of trangressions that was raised against him. “Using holy relics to make the sainted departed fart” would not be out of place.
Is this just Oglafian whimsicality or is there a deeper level I’m missing?
And what the heck is the red talking blob? A liver?
It’s a kidney.
Oh you’re right. But why?
If spirit or psychic phenomena can manifest themselves as skulls, why not as any internal organ?
This episode goes into the “absurdist” drawer, boy if any does ever.
Huh. I figured it was Alexander VI.
I enjoy this comic.
The variety of scenarios is one of its best features.
Even if once in a while you get a headscratcher, hey, I’m not the one making a whole comic page a week for free…
The “potato” one for me, was Huh? But my buddy thought it was fucking Hilarious.
Trudy & Doug missed an opportunity here.
Today’s strip has the most accurate and pithy tag line I’ve ever seen - “Love conquers all but then struggles to administer its territories.”
Haven’t bothered to post here in awhile but last Sunday’s entry amused me (non-porno, but not necessarily SFW). I love it when someone manages to get ahead of the insanity of the Oglaf world.
