Oh Cheney's wife, you want some too? FUCK YOU!

I just think anyone trying to accuse Max Cleland – a triple amputee – of being a “traitor” is seriously ill in the head.

As for Coulter… she hasn’t succeeded yet, but nobody’s stopping her from trying, trying, again.

I agree wholeheartedly.

It wasn’t Ann Coulter that did the worst of the smear job on Cleland. She helped, but most of it was done by Saxby Chambliss’ campaign.

The smear in question

It doesn’t directly tie him in with Saddam and Osama, but it still seems like a low blow and it probably didn’t help his reelection chances in 2002.

Out of curiosity, are there any more instances like this? I know Cleland is the biggie that everyone brings up, but did anything else like this go on?

Me, for one.

At least, not directly. The entire headache of the Middle East and how they feel toward Westerners of any flavor can be laid directly at the doorstep of the Catholic Church, with a big, hearty Fuck You Very Much For Being So Goddam Greedy That You Started The Crusades card from Hallmark.

The Middle East people have been carrying that grudge for nearly 1000 years. And it is now biting us in the ass.

No, not really. They’ve been over it for several hundred years now. Sure, if you go to war with some Arab countries it’s best not to call it a crusade, but your average Arab doesn’t give two craps about the Crusades in comparison with modern colonialism, supporting oppressive regimes, etc., etc.

As recently as a little over 50 years ago, the United States was probably the most admired and respected country in Iran. Then we fucked them over. Now they hate us.

Besides, the Crusades is a bit more complicated than “the Catholic Church was greedy and evil.”

So the Crusades were complex but Iraq currently is simple. Gotcha, Noam.

Ooooh, what a zinger, Manny. Or course, like most zingers, its pretty much devoid of substance. Except for the Noam Chomsky slur at the end there, that was classy.

Is Iraq a simple situation? No, of course not, never was. But our leaders had a simple solution, didn’t they? Of course, they were solving a problem that didn’t exist, the problem of the dreadful and imminent threat from Saddam. Direct, straight-forward, and wrong. And we are fast approaching another entirely simple choice: raw force or run like hell. Both of those answers are wrong as well, but at least they’re simple.

No doubt you have a better solution, Manny. Do tell. Astound me.

Goddam, you’re a fucking moron.

The Crusades were complex as to the reasons why Europe wandered over, as is the United States current involvement in Iraq.

The things that the United States is doing wrong in the Middle East is actually very simple, same with the Crusades.

Do everyone a favor, grow a brain and learn about what you decide to make cheap little drive-by posts about. Idiot.

Your high school English teacher is on the ledge, threatening to jump…

Ha! All we ever did was literature. I blame my lack of grammar, syntax and everything else on her and her cronies. See? It’s not my fault! It can’t be my fault. I blame whitey.
