Why the hell are the TMI threads being closed down? I haven’t noticed anyone being offended or shocked in a particularly bad way. I personally thought they were interesting.

These are questions we’d never be able to ask in real life. Fight the good fight against ignorance. Thats what the SDMB is for!

The mods generally don’t like spinoffs and there were rather a lot of spinoffs of a few TMI threads about spemr.

I still think they were legitimate questions. The Vaginal odor one has been discussed to death, but the other two were wholly new to the SDMB in the years i’ve been here.

Yeah, its common knowledge that vaginal odor differs, but male odors? I have never heard of that before. So much for fighting ignorance.

And I don’t know if my thread was a spinoff per se. Honestly I could have left the part out about Wes’s thread and have made the case without it. Honestly it seems like he read the OP and closed it without reading the other parts of the discussion.

I think it was purely because of the number of TMI threads that were in MPSIMS.

I’m here now. I wasn’t offended. I went a little too far with the mock-shock that’s all. And then I found myself defending my posts.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with TMI threads as long as there is the TMI warning. I just thought I’d point out that the Mods don’t like too many spinoffs on the same theme. It had nothing to do with them being TMI threads as such.
