Just a WAG, but maybe she’s trying to rehabilitate her image, to show people there’s more to her than thong undies. You may not agree with her doing that but I don’t really see how it reflects poorly on her “character.”
On the money thing, I remember reading that she had to go to community college in LA because her parents wouldn’t pay for the university she wanted to go to. So living off them might not be an option anyway.
The curious thing to me is why this company would choose someone who has not accomplished anything of positive worth to represent them. Remember when Magic Johnson was first dianosed with HIV? He was pulled from endorsing a number of products. When you hire someone, you also hire their reputation to sell your product.
Not to mention Ms. Lewinsky’s hypocrisy in having said that she just wanted to be ‘anonymous again’ to get on with her life. I can’t see how appearing in national ads accomplishes her goal.
Anti Pro has a good point- she has done nothing POSITIVE to gain sponsorships and other financial rewards. Over the past few years, many people have gained notoriety, money, and yes, book deals, simply because they committed terrible things.
I will not buy her products, just as I do not see movies or buy books about people I find objectionable.
The most disgusting thing about the whole Lewinsky mess was the overblown (darnit!) hoopla. She and Clinton behaved like shits. Both of them. He was married; she knew it. A powerful politician boinked a luscious, not too bright and opportunistic bimbo. Whooo, now that’s a shocker!
Yeah, it’s a Washington tradition (and all other venues of power); it was and is wrong but it wasn’t worth the millions and constitutional messes.
Hey, bimbos play around with married, powerful men and sometimes get caught. Remember Donna Rice (or was it the one with Swaggart?) cavorting around in her “No Apologies” jeans?
Bimbo opportunism du jour. Yawn. Jenny Craig was nuts to give credence to this airhead. Fawn Hall, BTW, was a total babe but also a skilled secretary. She quietly continued to work in reputable efforts.
La Lewinski is a bimbo. Her weight doesn’t and didn’t matter. Her “fame” based on bad behavior does.
This is part of the wonderful world of capitalism. Flesh sold to the highest bidder in the slave market of fame. If you want 30 flavors of tampons and Internet access - this seems to come with it. Not that I know how, but in all the realities I live in (many) Monica appears in each and every one. Sometimes she has a different name tho…Marilyn, Fawn, Fanny, the rest allude me…thank God I’ve forgotten their names.
I really don’t care either way, except in a freak show kinda attraction.
But I’ll say it here, now. She will have a recurring role or walk on in prime time soon.
Hey Teacherchick68…Tell me again what your beef is about MONICA joining the ranks of the wealthy by literally working her ass off, and suffering more stress than “you could ever fathom”.
Need I remind you that your own father “worked his ass off for what he has.” Isn’t that precisely what MONICA is doing?
Before you “poopoo” MONICA and HER MILLIONS(jealousy is a motive which comes to my mind), you should “rethink your words.”
What did she ever do to you, except make more money in a week than you’ll make in a life time…Oh, I stand corrected, you’ll probably inherit a bundle from your rich DADDY…that is unless he leaves it all of his Millions to your step-mother.
I, for one, applaud MONICA’s courage and perserverance…so long as she doesn’t blow it on expesive cigars and MATERIAL STUFF, of course.
Yea, but I heard that all the people in Canada are ugly anyway -
(snort)
And besides, so she’s another media whore. It’s not like she knows how to do anything well enough to maintain the lifestyle she’s accustomed to. The only industry where she might actually be “in demand” would be (I’d guess) porn films. Plugging Jenny Craig is somewhat more respectable than that.
I didn’t see any sum mentioned in the newspaper. How much will she get paid, and for what? Is it one lump sum up front for a long contract she may get released from or is it a relatively small payment now, and more to follow if they decide to keep using her? - MC
Maybe I was asleep during the Ollie North affair, but didn’t Fawn Hall shred documents–I don’t recall her being accused of sleeping with anyone–she just looked great.
Hey, Monica sells stuff because she’s famous due to her whorish behavior. Isn’t that part of what Madonna does? And, isn’t Madonna widely revered for her business acumen? (FWIW, I think Monica and Madonna are both sluts I wouldn’t cross the street to meet)
I agree with Jackamus. It sounds like her statement about becoming anonymous was BS, but it was pretty unrealistic anyway. She should use the media that blew her life into smithereens.
You’ve gotta admit, she’s not likely to be the only intern that blew a politician. The difference is that the media got a hold of the story and ran with it. In the final hour of the final day, I think we all proved that we didn’t care. All that happened was that a lot of magazines, ranging in posture/credibility from Newsweek to The Star, got sold.
I think the American media owes her one, and we, hungry gossip mongers that we are, must suffer through watching her hawk a lighter future. I know I checked the Drudge report daily and I even made a few bucks betting that Clinton would not resign. For all of the amusement I got out of the situation I don’t begrudge her a little payback. My advice to Monica: start making appearances in B movies. She could probably be a well sought-after cameo actress.
I don’t agree at all that she should just rest on family money (if there’s any left) and not pursue a career, or at least a job.
All of that aside, does it really look like she lost weight? She didn’t look any thinner to me.
Some mornings, it’s just not worth chewing through the leather straps.

If you assume that one of Jenny Craig’s major target demographics is people who think that no matter how much their life su…uh, that is, no matter how many problems they have, everything will be ok if they can only lose some weight, then both Monica and Fergie are perfect spokespeople.
Actually, no. Madonna sells MUSIC because she’s a talented artist (whether you like her particular style or not). That she expresses herself as a sexual being in the course of her art, or discusses her sexuality outside of it, does not mean that she’s famous because of any whorish behavior. She’s famous because she’s a great performer and people enjoy seeing her in concert or on video and like listening to her CDs.
But whorish behavior is the only reason Ms. Lewinsky has any fame at all.
My 2 cents on the Jenny Craig deal is this. No, I wouldn’t deny her the right to earn a living. Yes, we’ve all made stupid mistakes or erred in our judgement and we all hope to be forgiven (by G-d and those we’ve wronged) for them. But no, it’s not right (morally) to exploit your bad behavior for the almighty dollar. JC, IMO, is sending a really frightening message to young girls that says, “it’s ok to be a slut and use your bad acts to become famous, and we (or someone) will pay you for it.” To those who said she has no shame, I say; AMEN!
