The 8:30-5 workday doesn’t seem to suit me - I’m more comfortable and refreshed on a 12-9 sleeping schedule as opposed to a 10-7 one. Thus, I’ve moved to everyone’s favorite additive: caffeine.
I’m not a big coffee drinker, and having an energy drink every morning is really expensive. There’s things like Foosh mints, but they are expensive and hard to get here. That leaves the lovely caffeine pill.
But there’s a part of me that is in alarm at getting to the point of having a caffeine pill every morning. I mean, I realize one pill is 1/4 of the 4 cups of coffee I regularly see people have, I’m just getting it quicker. But there’s still a stigma on taking a pill like that, and my mother guilts me about taking it, even though she and my father polish off a full 12-cup coffeemaker batch every morning.
It also worries me that I feel a 100mg pill isn’t enough any more. But then again, my problem isn’t staying awake during the day, it’s getting going in the first 2 hours of my day.
Oh, caffeine, I less than three you, but I do spend too much time thinking about you. Anyone else?
