How Much Coffee Do You Drink Daily?

Just curious, how much coffee do you drink daily? I average about a large cup of coffee per day.

One large cup? That’s all?

I cut way, way, way back in 1998. I was drinking two full pots minimum a day. Sometimes more if I had coffee at a restaurant. Had done that all my adult life. Even brought a thermos with me to college classes (I’d sneak a quick cup between classes). Caffeine never kept me from sleeping. No shakes either.

Stomach problems caught up with me. Stopped cold turkey for two years. No caffeine at all. only drank non caffeine sodas like root beer or sprite.

Now I make a single pot in the morning. Drink about half the pot from a thermos throughout the morning.

If I really, really need a hot drink after work. I’ll make a cup of hot tea. It’s much lower in caffeine (says so right on the lipton box).

At home, usually a ‘12-cup’ (actually, over-filled to the top) pot of Dark Roast. On commuting days I have one 16-ounce cuppa Dark Roast, and then usually two or three 16-oz cups of crappy office coffee.

update Should add that I am a System Analyst. My hard core coffee days were when I was programming and taking call at night. Most programmers live off caffeine. Either Mountain Dew (it’s the biggest kick of standard sodas) or Coffee. I preferred coffee because there was no calories (I drink it black).

I’m very thankful these new super caffeine, energy drinks weren’t available when I was programming. Some of those have sent people to the ER with caffeine over doses. I’ve made a point to never touch one.

Too much, I think. I have about 2 16-ounce cups at home before work. I have a 3-cup french press at work and I typically have 2 or 2-1/2 of those pots throughout the day.

I drink one or two large cups a week! Only on work nights and stay nearly caffeine free the rest of the week.

About a litre, sometimes less. I have a big glass mug (that can hold two cans to soda) that I use for coffee.

I have never had more than a sip of coffee in my life; can’t stand the stuff.

Only 1 cup in the morning. Maybe 16-24oz of iced tea throughout the day on top of that. Caffeine addiction is real and I don’t want to become too dependent on it.

At least one, usually no fewer than two, never more than three.

None.

and not just “on average”, either. I don’t drink any coffee, ever, anywhere.

I drink a 12 cup pot each morning.

None anymore; my stomach can’t handle it, it rips an ulcer open.

However, I’m a huge Mt. Dew junkie, so it’s not like I’m not addicted!

I have a 4 cup Bodum french press that I drink entirely before work each day.

I love coffee, and work in a store that sells coffee, but I don’t drink much. One large (24oz.) Cup at most, per day. No specific reason, that’s just the way it works out.

Joe

Two 16 oz mugs on average. Is that a lot?

One cup a day, at dinner.

None; I’m a tea drinker (one or two cups a day).

I have a 4 cup coffeemaker and I drink those 4 cups everyday. However, these are wimpy cups, I don’t think they’re even 8 ounces, they might be six. It actually gives me 1 and a half cups of my large coffee mug. If I am out in the morning I usually by a large cup, 24 ounces.

Another vote for none.
