Oh mrblue92...if you're out there...

And I suppose you want to be my doctor, don’t you? (Or at least play doctor…) :stuck_out_tongue:

Persephone: It pretty obvious we’re having e-mail problems as the spam has slowed to a trickle. I expect I’ll see your e-mails from this weekend sometime this morning, hopefully before noon. Less than two weeks to Chick Dope…

Oooo…that doesen’t sound like a bad idea, babe. You have good ideas.

Oh, I’m just full of ideas, love.

You know, I just realized something this morning. I had my blinds closed last night… Newbie, how exactly did you know I had my TV on? Were you looking at the folks across the street with that huge projection screen TV? (Hell, it’s like a drive in–if they gave us those little radios we could sit on lawn chairs and watch movies in our front yards.)

[sub]This is your brain newbie, you had better say something cleaver so mrblue doesn’t realize you’re stalking him[/sub]

I’m stalking you!

[sub]Doh![/sub]

No, actually I caught a glimpse of a television screen when I pulled into my driveway last night. I couldn’t tell what was on it, not that I was looking anyways

[sub]That’s it! I quit! No more brain for TheNewbie[/sub]

What were we talking about again?

“something cleaver”???

OK, that does it. I’ve been thinking of buying a 12-gauge… What do you think, auto or pump? The pumps make that nice, distinctive “chunk-chunk” noise, but semi-auto’s are a wee bit faster…

Do you prefer slugs or 00 buckshot?

Yeah, that’s right…cleaver!

I would prefer the air-pump myself. Speed wouldn’t really be an issue. It would only take one shot. Plus, there’s nothing like the “chunk-chunk” noise and a loud explosion.

Wait, you’re not talking about using this on me are you?

AHHH!

::runs off to work::

They’ll protect me!

Glad everything’s okay. But I was kinda looking forward to those hams. :frowning:

My emails probably won’t be there, either. They were returned. That’s what made me start this thread.

Oh, and dlgirl? Take a number. Knowing what I know about the effect that mrblue has on the women that come in contact with him, your number shuld be somewhere in the oh…high triple digits, I think.

You might want to try resending now. It seemed to be working today.

But she already has my number, Cristi.

Um, Persephone… still no hint of that original e-mail.

Did you forget what you wanted to say or something?

Oh, and Newbie–don’t worry about the shotgun… I’ve decided it’s too noisy.

[sub]I’ve dug a tiger trap instead.[/sub]

You mean to tell me you had time to dig a tiger trap, but you didn’t have time to rake your leaves! Geeze, what is this world coming to? Of course I’m just messing around with you, I don’t think I’ve raked a leaf in a couple of years

Wait, I was just thinking about this…If I were to get a ride to Holidope from you, what kind of music would you pick out exactly? I may just want to drive down there myself…

And he was going to cover the tiger trap without the leaves how?

I needed something to cover the trap with, of course.

[sub]The reality is that today I got up at 4:30 a.m., left for Grand Rapids at about 6, got there at 8:30, worked until 5:30, got home at about 8:10.[/sub]

Well, let’s see… the CD’s in my truck include (but are not limited to):

Gershwin
Louis Armstrong
Goo Goo Dolls
Ray Charles
Matchbox 20
Diana Krall
Dixie Chicks
Metallica
Billy Joel
Def Leppard
Jane Monheit
The Gone Jackals
Patty Loveless
Miles Davis

So I’m weird. Sue me.

It just dawned on me…again

I’m new here

I have yet to master the line of thinking used at the SDMB. Ahwell, maybe someday right?

mrblue, the good news is that I recognize the following bands/singers:

Goo Goo Dolls
Ray Charles
Matchbox 20
Dixie Chicks
Metallica
Billy Joel
Def Leppard
Miles Davis

The bad news is, I would only listen to the following:

Matchbox 20
Metallica
and Maybe Def Leppard

Three out of 14, hmm I guess that’s not too bad. And it would beat driving down there by myself. So sure, count me in as a passenger if you’d like.

I would list all of the cd’s in my car, but I don’t feel like typing up over 100 band names.

[sub]Newbie, it’s your brain again… ::slap:: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TELLING HIM YOU HAVE OVER 100 CD’S IN YOUR CAR?!? ARE YOU JUST BEGGING TO HAVE THEM STOLEN?[/sub]

Shuddup brain! I’m trying to sound cool by telling him I have so many CD’s.

I know you wouldn’t believe it from the the bass that sometimes pounds your walls, but a good 80% of my cd’s are rock cd’s. I’m not a huge rap fan, so it looks like we might be able to compromise on some music for the ride…

Pssst…Newbie, I’ll send you some ‘Cebo, The Cure and Orgy. That should get you all rarin’ to go…::giggle::

mrblue, you listen to Dixie Chicks? I don’t know if I can be associated with you anymore…they are…ugh…No, sweetie, don’t cry. I was just kidding. You can listen to whatever you want. Oh, please. Oh, dear. :frowning:

OK babe, what’s so wrong with the Dixie Chicks? I mean, if you can’t tolerate country music in general, I understand (I used to be the same way–when I was very young and naive :p). They do play their own instruments and write some of their own songs… music is supposed to be fun, and I think they’re fun.

Would you rather I listen to the Spice Girls?

Aw, look. He’s trying to impress me. Isn’t the newbie cute? Go ahead, girls, pinch his widdle bitty cheeks!

Awwwwwww…

Do you know what mrblue? I used to listen to country…before I grewed up. Don’t like it now (although if I listen to it, I wanna go romp in fields in a summer dress. ::giggle:: ) Now I listen to Alt. Rock. I am savoring every last bit that I have.

I commend the DCs for writing and playing their own music, though. It is hard to find anyone that does that. I would take a road trip with you though. The rest of your collection is fine by me. :)(But of course, I would end up bringing a lot of my CDs, so, you might have to put up with some of my music. And my dancing. Oh, and singing. :D)

:: pinching The Newbie’s cheeks ::

What’d you say? I was supposed to pinch the cheeks on his face?! Ooops…sorry about that Newb. Just think of that as an early Christmas prezzie. Hee, hee…

Dancing? On a road trip? That would be interesting.

What? You’ve never danced in a car before? Well, it’s not really dancing, you goof. I can’t stand in the car. But you should see me moving while I’m sitting…you get free entertainment.
