All I get from the FBI are warnings I’ve been to illegal websites. 
If he’s calling himself Dr. Mingu, he’s probably got ten other scambaiters calling him Dr. Mugu, too.

I recently got my first one ever. For the first email they used a Hungarian email address - naturally, it was a Hungarian doctor writing on behalf of a moribund Sierra Leonian billionairess - so I have started exchanging emails with them. I pepper mine liberally with perplexed Hungarian exclamations and expletives courtesy of Google Translate. I’ve probably told them that my hovercraft is full of eels, but that hasn’t seemed to disturb them so far.

It did cross my mind, what if the OP’s email was received by a foil-hat wearing paranoid? Getting contacted by a super-secret FBI secret branch sounds right up their alley!
First of all, you know it’s fake because the FBI wiretapped the internet years ago.
Second of all, why don’t I ever get great email like this?
I have to say, having worked in a position that required me to actually verify documents from all over the world, you’d be surprised at just how amateurish the genuine government stuff can be.
I’ve seen major embassies operating via yahoo mail and certificates from genuine marriages which use another countries form, with the location crossed out in marker pen. And all of the many, many security features built into passports. I must have come across a genuine document that violates every single one of them.
“That looks too shitty to be a forgery” is not a decision making criteria that most people would want associated with border security, but it was a rule that was pretty well supported by my actual experience

It’s entertaining for about five seconds, then it’s enraging when you think of all the complicity in the Nigerian government, Western Union (who AFAICT hasn’t conducted a legitimate transaction in 20 years, between this stuff and illegal aliens transferring money), the inept U.S. authorities who are outsmarted by these illiterate yahoo yahoo boys, etc. Believe me, it’s not great e-mail.

I’m just glad the FBI is finally investigating these scams, and I’m ready to cooperate in any way they ask. I understand they are stretched to their limits, so it doesn’t bother me if their emails skimp on some words and grammar.
