Oh Noes

Could somone please explain to me the origin/meaning/joke behind this phrase? I’m seeing it all over the place.

Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

I think this is more of a MPSIMS kind of thing, so off it goes.

Im not sure where it came from, but the correct spelling is OHNOES :open_mouth:
The :open_mouth: smilie is obligitory.

Apollo?
Okay, mebbe not.

When one Oh No! simply won’t do…

I always hear the voice of Mr. Bill (the claymation guy (from SNL I think) that always gets squished) when I read that. I don’t know if that’s where it comes from or not.

Taken from Urban Dictionary: Oh Noes

Yerp,

Thats what I got from “Oh Noes!” Explanation…

If everyone reads an unfortunate story at the end they would all yell… OH NO!

You would then be in the act of hearing a chorus of …OH NOES!

I think it’s pretty funny when a single person says, “Oh Noes!” when hearing bad news while with other people.

BOSS: You will all continue to work until I get tired! BWAH HA HA HA!

WORKER: (all the way at the back of the office) oh noes!!!

And upon waking up one morning and realising I had overslept I discovered that the phrase ‘Uh ohs!’ also has its uses.

Again, because one ‘oh’ simply wasn’t enough.

I don’t know where it came from, but when I read it, I always hear it in Edie McClurg’s voice.

In the kids’ I Love Toy Trains videos, a growly-voiced guy says this every time a train falls off the track or goes crashing through a wall. “Oh no!” It’s become a catchphrase in our family.
