ohhhh matron

Once again I decided to let my mind wander (despite the possibility that it might get lost and wont come back). As a child I spent a lot of time going to the hospital to have things removed from my ears (toilet paper, bourbon biscuit cream) or having various things put right with me. While balancing on my head I tore the muscles in my neck and was paralysed for a while. For these reasons I despise the health service and all who work in it.
Doctors are the worse offenders, they have a unique ability to state the obvious.
“I think you might have hay fever, that’s why you have been sneezing every 6 seconds, for the past 2 months.” Then they ask a few stupid questions and give you some anti-biotics (Due to their over use some bugs are becoming resistant to anti-biotic treatment).
Nurses are just those people who were to stupid to be doctors, yet they still get let loose with needles and drugs.
The various other people who work in hospitals are all miserable and make it their duty to make your life as difficult as possible.
Sorry to anyone who works for the NHS but you’re a tax stealing jerk.

Nurse Ratched, I want my cigarettes!

I haven’t met anyone who likes hospitals.

That said, if you’ve got doctors over there giving people antibiotics for hay fever, y’all got serious problems.

But I believe most doctors are good people who are trying to make the world slightly better, and that’s a good thing.

I like Doctors a lot.

And nurses too.

However, I do not like admitting I am so ill that I need to GO TO a Doctor - that’s the prob, see.

You sound like you end up in front of Doctors a lot, and you’re miserable about it, rather than having any good reason to dislike them or to call them stupid.

The only time I can remember visiting hospital was the aformentioned biscuit-in-ear and balencing on head (I was encouraged to do this by my sisters) incidents. I think I just dont like people with cold hands.

I work for the NHS. I work in an ambulance control room planning and directing ambulances. I work very hard in a difficult and stressful job to make sure people like you can get to hospital. I enjoy my job and try my best to do all that I can for my patients. You are an ungrateful bastard.

Nurses are invaluable people who work long unsociable hours for very little pay so people like you have someone to give them injections and take care of them when they’re sick. Nurses have incredibly stressful jobs and deal with ungrateful bastards like you every single day. I’m sure if you tell them just what you think of them, they’d be only to happy to stop treating you.

Uh, yeah. Let’s see, you could have been paralyzed for the rest of your life if you were left to your own devices. Who was it who un-paralyzed you, I wonder? That’s where you’d be without doctors and nurses: a paralyzed asshole with bourbon cream and toilet paper in your ears.

What a fucking idiot.

Surely this should be: “EggNogg is just some person who is too stupid to hold a logical thought in his head let alone post to a messageboard, yet he still gets let loose with a computer and a modem”. Do note the two "o"s in “too”.

Well, I worked in Leeds General Infirmary as an electrician for quite while, but despite the responsibility of my work, and despite being qualified to degree level, I found that I could get more money, for fewer hours, with more holidays and a non-contributary inflation linked pension scheme outside of the health service.

So although I have over 20 years experience in electronic and heavy electrical systems, including high voltage switchgear, genrators, large scale air conditioning plant, computorised environmetal services control systems, alarm systems of many kinds I found that my tax-sucking was not good enough, so I do not work in the NHS any more.

I will also add that whenever I hear of a post becoming available where I work, I make sure my former colleagues know and apply which has resulted in a steady loss to the NHS of highly skilled and trained staff.

If your life is not worth paying a halfway decent wage for those who seek to maintain it then you will just have to make do with second raters.

BTW, my wage in the hospital was certainly not what one would call reasonable given my knowledge and experience, £16k p.a is pretty poor, nowadays I’m on £22k with all the aforementioned benefits and all I do is try to teach idiots a few basic skills, if you wish I’m sure I could teach you a little.

takes flying leap from handle
This is some of the best reactions I have managed to get with this kind of thread.

Too late. Looks like you should have put a leash on that thing. Don’t you know things that small shouldn’t be let out alone?

Because you were stupid enough to put stuff in your ears and tear up your own neck. Yes, I’m sure people in the health profession set you up to that.

No, that’s mostly due to stupid people who don’t understand what antibiotics are and how they should be used. These are the same people who must buy anti-bacterial everything because they are afraid of germs.

You been to nursing school, sweetie? It’s hard to get in. It’s a hard job, especially when they have to deal with ungrateful assholes like you. And those same people who are “get loose with needles” are among the few people who can hold my needle-phobic self down long enough to give me an IV. You should thank a nurse for not sticking a syringe full of saline into your eye after spouting off shit like that.

This is also because they have to deal with stupid people and assholes like you all day. Try something next time you do something idiotic and have to go back to the hospital: try being nice to the people who are saving your worthless ass. Kindness begets kindess after all.

So don’t partake of their services. Next time you do something stupid and hurt yourself, just lay on the ground and suffer. Free up ER space for people who really need it and will be grateful for it.

SpazCat, veteran of many life-saving hospital visits and damn grateful to the wonderful doctors and nurses who put up with her hysterical reactions to seeing needles to help her out. Rock on you crazy health professionals.

Gah. Could someone fix that crappy excuse for coding? Gracias.

Admitting to deliberate trolling used to be ban-worthy around here. I wonder if it still is?

If I dig upwards do you think I could get out of this hole?
