Honorable caveat, Giraffe. Not everyone is rah-rah politics as blood sport party animal. I’m an Independent and don’t pay that much attention to party labels. (Not that there’s that much difference between them, both being corporations devoted to staying in power.)

McCain is a whore. He started out with potential to repair some of the damage. After all, he was bitter and furious over how Shrub’s campaign attacks on him. So what does he do? Promptly hires RoveLite and starts exactly the same filthy tactics he’d condemned. What a maverick. Then Palin, Creationist Barbie, who’s perfectly comfortable dictating religion with the force of government.
I think Obama will be okay. I’m not wildly enthused but he’s solid, very intelligent and he’s stayed consistent. He’s shown signs he’ll do okay. Maybe not great, but who knows those things upfront. At least he won’t make stupid mistakes like Shrub; you know, boy Bricker’s heartthrob.
