OK, Beeyotches, You've Made Up My Mind For Me

On the other other hand, we could dive further to contentless conservative-dick-sucking posts like yours. Or you could fuck off back to wherever you came from (Zenster, is that you?), which I imagine contains the words “Free” and “Republic” in some order.

Growing up in south Alabama, I knew a lot of mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging racists who reacted to Republican victories much the same way an Alabama Crimson Tide fan might react to an Iron Bowl win - juvenile taunts, silly [insert group here] jokes, etc. I have to wonder about the class of person who reacts to political victories the same way a chaw-stained hillbilly reacts to a football game.

Bricker, I’ve come to admire you quite a lot over the years, in spite of my first (and admittedly ridiculous) instinct to lump you into the same pile as posters like the smug, spiteful and intellectually cadaverous Shodan. I’m honestly surprised by how much your OP disappoints me, and it actually makes me sad. Maybe it’s the greater fact that the McCain campaign has succeeded in lowering the tone of the election and reviving the disgusting divisiveness of the Bush campaigns. And I see the frothing liberals and understand where you’re coming from, but it makes me wonder:

Can’t you see that you are being had?

Vote for whomever you like for whatever reason you like. What do I care?

He wasn’t slamming you; he was responding to the fact that your post was quoted in an attack on him.

Bricker, I wondered what your reaction would be to the last week of attacks by the Obama campaign, spokespeople, and supporters. I also wonder what would happen if John Mace ultimately changed his mind for whatever reason. The charges of, “I know you were never serious, you neocon asshole” would ring loud and clear.

I for one am SHOCKED! Shocked that Bricker is going to vote McCain.

Next thing you know, Dio will be voting for Obama!

What a crazy world.

lol!!!

Quoting a movie classic, I foolishly assumed you knew something of movies. Then again, you’re Shodan, who may or may not be a bot. So program this one in: “Forget it Jake, it’s Chinatown” is the classic last line to a classic Jack Nicholson movie. The Two Jakes was an ill-advised sequel that was eminently forgettable.

I’m not so sure. Take a look at posts #82 and #83, and see if you still feel that way.

Still, if Bricker agrees that no insult was intended, I’ll apologize and retract.

How exactly did you fuck up the quote? “OP” isn’t capitalized, And “U” is, neither of which was the case in my original post.

Well, first of all I think you should vote for McCain if you agree with him on the issues. That’s the main reason I’m planning to vote for Obama.

Second, I think it’s illogical that although you considered voting for Obama because you like the way he’s campaigning, you gave up the idea because you don’t like the way other people who don’t take orders from Obama (“the left”) are behaving. The election isn’t between McCain and a bunch of liberal bloggers, or liberal Dopers. What would you think if someone said “I considered voting for McCain because I admire him as a person, but I decided not to because conservative Internet geeks were being such assholes”? Does that sound reasonable to you?

Now you’re just making yourself look like an arrogant dick.

Modesty demands, and honesty. I have a similar problem when I’m mistaken for George Clooney. How about you, when mistook for Wilford Brimley?

No insult intended at all, although given the ambiguity, no apology necessary either. But rest assured I wasn’t slamming you.

Thank you. I’m very glad to hear it.

What a touchy and hypersensitive brand of Republican we seem to have here at the Dope. Not at all like the ruggedy, mavericky, independent, steely eyed, tough and emotionally aloof brand that you see on the teevee.

Please don’t hurt their feelings.

Where ya been, luce? Stirring up trouble at the pubbie convention?

I’ve missed the smell of patchouli in the morning.

The idea that a politician should be able to “control” the people who support him in an election is ludicrous and offensive. The fact that Obama’s backers do not take direction from him is part of why I like the Democratic Party. It’s a shame more people don’t share his high-minded approach, but that’s life.

And 2) The way the obviously biased leftie media is championed as being fair, objective and honest.
Is that the “obviously biased leftie media” that has been more critical of Obama than McCain by a 2.5 to 1 ratio?

Because no one on the left side of the political spectrum is a Christian and no families on the left of the political spectrum have any values.

Keep barking the party line, Fido!

If Obama wins, I will not gloat, because I am a better human being than you are.

Then pull your nose out of McCain’s fetid asshole.
