He complains that the British people have been giving him a hard time about his adulterous affair with Camilla. He complains that his private life has made lots of money for others.
What am I missing? Should I feel sorry for him?

However, I did find some humor in the story. It is well known that the Prince likes old architecture. That would explain Camilla.
shrug Just because he’s Royal, doesn’t mean being Royal can’t be a giant pain in the ass.
I’ll admit I don’t quite understand why so many people have fantasies about being royalty, or dreams of being incredibly famous. I personally think it’d be perfectly awful to be either.
I’m definitely not a docile lady, which is what royalty and the people that love them seem to prefer in their women. I absolutely like making my own choices in life, and have made an art out of not giving a damn about what people I don’t particularly like, or (especially!) know from Adam think about them. I’d be horrid at being Royalty, or even just famous on that score.
The invasion of privacy alone would drive me into a belltower with an armload of sniper rifles. When you read about paparazzi, you read about things like tabloid reporters going through your garbage, for crissakes. If I had to deal with a bunch of morons pointing cameras in my face every time I so much as snuck a nose out the door, I don’t imagine it’d take very much time at all for me to completely snap on someone.
I wouldn’t mind being “mildly rich”, but I imagine I would utterly hate being either royal or famous. I don’t even think I’d want to be “filthy” rich, to be perfectly honest.
I feel a bit sorry for all royalty on that score, really. I remember how bad I felt for the Princes Harry and William after their mother died.
Anyways, IMO, the whole Charles-Camilla affair while they were both married to other people is scummy, but people love whom they love. After 30 some-odd years, if nothing else, they’ve proved they love each other.
