Ok, so why does my face now twitch?

Now that you are currious, allow me to explain. A few days ago, I began to notice a slight twitch that I was having. It isn’t very large, but it’s becoming quite a bothersome. The area of my face that is doing it, is as follows…

…take a finger as if you are about to pick your left nostril. Now, from that posistion, move your finger away from your nostril about one centimenter. That is the certer of the area that is twitching, and it is about a square inch area of my face it is happening to, right above my lip, if you now know where I mean.

It isn’t TOO major right now, meaning, you can’t notice it from across the room. It is however noticeable if you are right in front of me. It twitches every so offten, some times over and over, other times it goes a hour at the most without doing anything, but USUALLY, it’s every few minutes, and it lasts for only a few seconds. Now, my question to you guys is this…

…what could this be, and why could it be doing it? Could nerves cause this? What else could be the mystery culprit? I would be lying if I said it isn’t begining to worry me, so come on, help me solve this mystery of the square inch area of my face twitching. Oh yeah…

…and if you are out there Scooby Doo, you can join this mystery with the rest of us, I can use all the help I can get!

Sincerely,
…Brent “Downhome” Lumkin…

Tourette’s syndrome?

I get a twitch, usually around the eye (only one at a time), and it sounds similar to yours, BrentLumkin. Nothing ever diagnosed (doesn’t seem important enough for me to see a doc), but usually comes on when I’m under extended periods of stress.

If it continues – see your doctor. I’d be surprised if it was TS.

Hey, I’m getting a twitch around an eye too! Only started a couple months ago. I’m on my exams, so I suspect it’s a stress-related thing too.

Well my understanding is the OP’s twitch is caused by allergies. It happens to me rather often until I take some Clarinex. But it could be stress.

Are you taking any kind of prescription medication? Sometimes meds can cause tardive dyskinesia – muscle tics.

When I increase my caffiene intake beyond my usual cup of coffee per day, I get a twitch near my eye.

Nope, not on any Meds at all. I don’t have any idea what this could be, but thanks for the suggestions so far, keep them coming!

Leave off the first two words of your question, and it read better.

Dehydration and/or fatigue is what usually does to me.

I get the same lip twitch, as well as one by my eye. For me it’s all stress related.

I think your problem is that you longing for a kiss…a kiss from someone special someone you think about often, but are to scared to tell her, or just don’t make the move…Don’t be scared just go for it!! Your Lip will thank you later. I promise.
