Dude.
Male.
Of the male persuasion, although I was never persuaded. Just started out that way and it kept.
Don’t recall being taken for female but twice. Once was by one of those in-and-out types who was way more interested in exposing every passing thought she had than in learning anything about others. Kept referring to me as Zelda even after I made a point of telling her that it was ZeldaR.
The other confusion stemmed from another Doper thinking my handle came from a similar place as hers: a fusion of family names. Not the case.
Guy.
I’m with picunurse. Just watch how yas talks to a lady, see?
Not that I think my username has ever caused any confusion, but definitely female.
My real name, on the other hand, causes people who only know the name to assume I’m male, even though the spelling is different, and apart from my close friends even people who actually know me almost always use the male spelling. And because it’s not as common for a woman as for a man, when I first introduce myself a lot of people have a tendency to turn it into any of a number of other similar sounding (or sometimes not) names. There’s been so many times that I’ve ordered takeout and couldn’t pick up my food when I got there because the order was under the wrong name, I now use aliases on the phone.
I should probably just change my name legally to Wolfgrrl, and pretend my parents were celebrities.
My screenname is explicitly female. No worries there.
It’s my face that causes the gender identification problems. <sigh> Sucks to be me IRL.
Oh, right, I did read that book, years and years ago. I didn’t like it much, so forget that’s what it’s from. Riiiiight.
I’m female, but with the ‘a’ on the end of my name, I don’t think anyone has ever mistaken it.
Manly man.
Not a nurse. Not a Carmen.
My handle does not generally lead to any confusion either, but in case anyone is uncertain, I am a guy. I am also fat and bald.
Oh, now that IS tricksy!
I’m trying to come up with something witty and failing miserably.
Female here, to Papa Zappa’s great relief, as he’s a dude and insists he’s not gay. Then again, given that I’ve contributed to breastfeeding and childbirth threads, I’m guessing there was never any serious question
IRL I frequently get mistaken for an outie when I’m talking on the phone, as I have a fairly deep voice for a woman. 's partly why I chose a girly-leaning screen name.
I gots boobies! Yay me!
Did I win?
I figure most folks assume Geek = male, which happens to be true, in this case.
btw
Hey laAADIEES
::runs::
I’m throbbingly, tumescently, ruttingly male.
I’m a girl!
And I don’t drive a taxi.
Guy.
Ya know…in case there was any confusion.
Female here!
There seems to be a growing awareness of this among some of the regulars in the comic book threads.
Female here.
